SD16 is showing no sign of snapping out of this awful mood which has gone over two weeks now. Her father is saying she has reverted back to how she was when living at her mothers. He thought having her here with us was solving the problem. Obviously not. Nothing in life seems to give her any pleasure or if it does it is short lived. Her father and I feel we are constantly walking around on eggshells. Apparently she has been like this ever since she began secondary school (and she is in her final year now). Before that she was a happy, laid back and fun child with a lot of friends.
I just wanted to say that I'm thinking of all the SM's and SF's out there who have been affected by the Midwest flooding.
We're lucky. We came home Sunday to a wet basement. We've also got a leaking window on the first floor. Not a bid deal compared to the ppl who've lost homes and cars.
I'm sure someone will have something nasty to say about this, but hey, until you have to live my life, don't judge.
SS7 called his dad yesterday about 4:30 and was in great mood and said hey dad I am calling you from mom's phone and was just a talking! That just made H's day. H started asking him how his day was and where did he stay today as his 3 step sisters who keep him were at their mom's. H could tell that SS was trying to OK with his mom that he could tell his dad where he had stayed that day so his mom would not get onto him. Once SS did that BM started yelling you are burning up my minutes get off the phone and so on.
So, she found out about the beach - told my SDs she was going to take them as well, that she has them a pool and a swingset and art supplies and all kinds of stuff and that everyone misses them so bad, etc.
Well let's just say I have two adult SD's. One is DS (Demon Seed) and the other is PF (Princess Fantasyland). Right now PF is miles away from us with a child & BF by the name of LB (Lump Boy), and no realistic ambitions of her own at the moment. PF does show signs of lucidity at times and it our hope (DH & mine) that PF will take child and return home to some sense of reality. Hoping against hope that PF will not marry LB & consign herself to a life of abject misery.
I am so glad that we as humans have the ability to forget.
I don't know if this is going to be an ongoing problem or not yet. H picks up SD and drops off at the same time EOW...6pm. If drop offs need to be early he will call BM and make sure it is ok. Every Friday she will call between 4-6 times while he is on the way to see what landmark he is at. It takes anywhere between 1 1/2- 2 hours each way to get there. I don't know why he even answers the phone, but he does most of the time. We always get a call Sunday morning to see when we will be dropping her off. Same conversation... 6pm. I feel like the movie Groundhog Day.
So FH decided to go ahead and call CPS...they said she's not doing anything illegal. A 5 year old can be outside while you watch from a 2nd story apartment window, I guess and it's ok for a child not to bathe unless their hair is greasy...One more for BM I guess..this woman gets away with everything. And he can wear clothes too small for him and it's ok. The worker doesn't suspect any abuse. whatever...ugh...I give up
I burst into tears. The judge signed the decree giving me RIGHTS to my SON (thats right, he isn't my step-son anymore!!)
We have a hearing in August t finalize everything and sign the paperwork to have his birth certificate changed. His mom never even called the court to contest!
