Step-parenting is a journey that most women are not prepared for when they are younger. When is the last time you heard a 10 year old say, “Someday I will meet my Prince Charming, and he and I and his three preteen children will all live happily ever after?”

Finally, I stood up for myself....

I am new to this site. I had been married for my DH for about two years now. I finally have the guts to tell him what I really think about SD. He is an enabler. SD is 23 years old and graduated from college for almost a year now. Right after her graduation, DH and her decided that she needs to find another apartment closer to where she wants to work, which is about $2000 without a roomate. I told DH that it is not a wise decision because she has not find a job yet and 2000 is a big committment. However, it's his money. She moved in and a year later she still can not find a job.

I finally believe in Karma

hoooray BM is finally tossing and turning in the bed she made on her own. She caused havoc for DH and I for years, took the kids off him, told the kids lies about him and me, threatened everyone tried to get the kids to hate us. Though i dont really need to go into details because i can see most of us on here already know the drill and have been through it all too.

A letter to my BF from my SD.

A STEP ahead of you's picture

So yesturday after BF picked kids up from school, SD gave him a letter.
The letter said:
Dear Dad
I miss seeing u everyday day and everynight. I wish i can see u everyday like before. but not anymore because my mom doesn't let me she trys to get u introuble. She trys to take me and my brother(SS6) away from u. Love u dad. love SD10.

I was wondering can my BF use that letter in court? (Bf is taking BM back to court.)

There goes date night...

DH and I are well overdue for a "date night". The plan was for him to check on his elderly parents after work and let me know when he was on his way to our favorite Mexican restaurant. Since we live about 30 minutes away it made more sense for me to stay at work (which is only about 10 mintues away from the restaurant). I ended up staying at my office for an HOUR after work while he checked on his parents. Then I left and wasted some time at the drugstore before he FINALLY called me and told me to meet him there.

Thank you!!

I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you for all those who responded to my postings today and my other recent post. I have been a long time lurker (visit several times every day) for the past 4 years at least. I have sat back and watched countless "dramas" unfold and arguments, but I always come back because the experiences, advice, and even the vents have always helped to just read.

I usually don't really post at all because I'm just not good at it and don't really feel like I have much to offer or am not as gifted at this type of outlet as many of you are.

Three Things You Are Grateful For:

VENT!!!!!

SS dropped a college course because the assignment was to do a paper on three things in his life for which he is grateful. He thought it was a very difficult paper and he doesn't have time for that... He has other glasses to worry about, like gym and art.

The ingrate couldn't even come up with three things!! Even though the three things could have been as simple as He is ALIVE, He eats every day and doesn't live in a homeless shelter!!

He can read and write;

He has never suffered a personal and debilitating tragedy;
