Let me count the ways I can't stand our current (and soon to be no longer) roommate. First off I'd like to say that I honestly don't mind the guy but I'm just like GET. OUT. OF. OUR. HOUSE. NOW.
Is that normal? There was a time when I used to feel for my sd(17) when she was hurt etc.
Step Parent Alienation Syndrome - LOL!
It's when DH, BM and the skids play on their merry go round of dysfunction and expect you to hop on and ride with them...
....instead you are left standing there thinking "WTF?"
LMAO, I've been on that ride for 10 years....I've FINALLY learned!
I think at some point, we've all hated our stepkids, or at least have thought that we really hate them.
Some questions that could serve as food for thought for us SMs:
1) Why do we hate, or think we hate, our stepkids?
My answer: I know that I thought I hated my stepkids because they were rude, unclean, and uncivilized. However, they were younger (early elementary school years) and were living with BM, who makes neanderthals look good.
2) Why don't we direct our hatred towards our DHs?
Disclaimer.... I am not the jealous wife! Please know that right off the bat!
Sometimes I feel though that the ex is talked to and treated better than the way I get treated.
Here is the background of the story.....Yesterday morning my husband woke up with his ear hurting him. We had some drops but they were not what he really wanted. His daughter, who was with us this weekend and is 13 years of age, has major ear troubles.
Some of this is in my bio - and most of the abbreviation I am picking up but still somewhat confused.
Well not too often do we have a bad weekend but I have to tel you this one was one of those.
Last time we had SD5 was last Monday night. She seemed fine, but she told us that BM thinks she is allergic to their pet rat because she keeps getting puffy eyes when she wakes up. I asked her if she has been crying at night before sleep becuase I know sometimes that makes your eyes puffy the next day, and she said no, so we just kind of let it go.
Well low and behold-I knew I had a good ss underneath! I was ready for a fight this morning when I told him I was coming to the school to pick up his report card(so it doesn't get lost in his bm car again) and he didn't even frown. He said 'Ok, maybe I will see you there.' I think I almost peed myself. I also took my sd to get her ears pierced yesterday. She didn't even flinch a bit! I couldn't believe it. But then I could literally watch the color drain from her face after it was done! She is so cute! Sometimes I need things like to remind me how much I love them!
Princess called all in tears tonight. Saying she doesn't know why people don't trust her and why everyone at college says she's two-faced. "I'm always so nice to people, and I'm honest, and..."
"Are you kidding me?" I yelled into the phone. (She got busted by me and her dad on January 7 in a major lie.) I told her that she was 18 and in college now, so it was time for me to tell her some truths, and I wasn't going to listen to her bulls#$@ anymore.
