In deference to those who are still suffering from Seasons Eatings (Tubby Tuesday!), we’ll skip the PHYSICAL Tone-Up Tuesday and work on toning our mental health.
There’s good stress… and there’s bad stress. Do you know the difference? It’s important to identify your biggest stressors (and triggers) and manage the way you react to them.
Some stress is healthy. It energizes and motivates you. In an emergency, it can actually protect you by giving you a sense of focus.
It's baaaaack!!! Hopefully, the holidays weren't TOO stressful with all of the planning and festivities and stephell.
Ah, the carefree days of youth! No job stress, no exasperating coworkers, no car repair concerns, no cholesterol/triglyceride, no menu planning, no bills to pay… 9 months of school and a 3 month vacation. Our biggest concerns were some annoying chores and was the weather good for playing outside.

Welcome to Tuesday, STalkers! I'm hoping this day is better than yesterday. Monday. Ish.
How goes it with everyone? My physical therapist continues to torture me, but I can feel myself getting stronger. I'm not struggling as much with some of the exercises (oh, how I loathe that facking BALL!)..
Naturally, I am also trying to make better food choices and eat healthier. NOT an easy task for a foodie! I'm always trying to find food substitutes that help me overcome my cravings (carb queen here!). Three that help me:

DRINK UP! When you don’t drink enough water, your body can confuse hunger with thirst. Upping your water intake can have big impact on how much you eat during the day. Carry a water bottle so you have a physical reminder to drink.
Happy Tuesday, STalkers!! Did you overeat on Thanksgiving? Gorge on tasty leftovers? I did well on turkey day - ate a late breakfast to tide me over and ate a small plate of appetizers. My dinner plate consisited of small spoonfuls of things I wanted (except for that homemade cranberry sauce - I ate half a cup of that tasty tartness!). And then came the pie. I ate 2 small pieces, but that put me outside of my comfort zone. Ugh.
It's that day again! How goes the toning? I hope there are some success stories.
Breakfast is important. If you don't fuel your body, you'll pay for it. Headache, low blood sugar, shakes... What's your favorite morning fuel?
- Cheese omelet
- Oatmeal and 2 slices of real bacon
- Puuro and 2 slices of back bacon
- Baked Lake Superior whitefish, chilled (this is my absolute fave!!!)
Happy Tuesday, STalkers! Is anyone else happy that Monday is behind us? Phew, what a day. It was so craptastic, that I was seriously craving some chocolate. Who else is mentally slapping my hand and thinking, “Bad Aniki!”? Good news: there are “bad” foods that are good for you and chocolate is one of them. Woo hoo!!!

Tuesday has rolled around once again (so predictable!). How goes it, STalkers?
Do you have a favorite meal substitute or something to tide you over between meals?
I prefer protein shakes. My go-to, premade shakes are Atkins Vanilla and Core Power High Protein Vanilla shakes. Those Core Power shakes taste like an actual milkshake! Atkins is a "filler" when I have a long stretch between meals. Core Power is something I will drink for breakfast.
