Tonight after my SD-11 got finished with her homework she handed me a piece of paper from her teacher and told me I was suppose to read it. The sheet of paper explained that the kids were going to be working on a project in class for the last few weeks of school, a memory book. Well part of the assignment is for the parents, the sheet said all parents and step parents are to right a letter saying what they admire most about their child/stepchild.
to others problems/issues I have discussed with BF3 some healthy rules for our relationship and having SS in our home.
1) BM is not welcome in our home. (neither of us want her here)
2) BM's other two children( niether are BF3's) are welcome with their brother SS This is important to BF3 as he has been the main male role model in the childrens life for the last 7 years), but not everytime ( which is BM's current rule) and when it fits in with what we are doing.
Dear fellow stepparents, I come hear with a heavy heart. I am married (3 years in July) and have been dating my husband for almost 6 years. I have 2 bio children, a 10 year old daughter and a 6 year old son. My husband has 1 bio daughter (lives with BM) and 2 other daughters he has accepted as his. They are 18 and 14. The 14 year old lives with us presently. Until 1.5 years ago, the other 2 lived with us.
BF gave instructions to his lawyer several months ago that if BM would provide proof of employment and allow an official to inspect her home, he would drop the custody lawsuit. BM finally got her lawyer to talk to BF's lawyer, and talked to BF about it today. She agreed to do both things, and so now all they need to do is agree on who will perform the inspection.
This may be long, I so apologize in advance. Lately my DH and I have been having "MySpace" issues with my SD. She's 18 and thinks she finest thing that has blessed this planet. Her father nicely (I have to give him props cause I wouldn't have been so nice) asked her to remove questionable pictures off her myspace, well she argued. He nicely reiterated to take them off, she argued, he got more demanding, she argued..then he went to full blown cussing at her. She stopped arguing (duh).
My friend with melanoma. Prognosis? Best case scenario given the circumstances. The cancer is only in the surrounding tissue of the two tumors in his leg and has not spread any further.
Thank you for the positive thoughts and prayers. I am so happy today!
Much love to all of you who took the time.
So, I still have not received word from the military whether my paperwork has been approved for the kids and I to go back to active duty. But, this weekend, I find out that my DH who didn't even tell his parents when we were getting married nearly 5 years ago (they found out from the invitation I sent them 3 weeks before the wedding)told them that I was planning on leaving. I then mentioned this to him, to which he asked if I was looking for a fight.
So-I come home from work last night and DH is sitting on the couch nostrils flared-looking like a bull ready to stampede. Apparently Zippy16.5 FINALLY got under Daddykins skin.
Entitled Zippy has been anticipating a summer of sleeping until 2pm-enjoying a leisurely breakfast on the living room couch(yes-plate fork and knife ON the living room couch) for an hour-then heading downstairs to X/Box and Rock Band 24/7-
DH USED to say -"this is how kids socialize these days-video conferencing X/Box plays"
DH is beginning to see the error of his ways...
Ok... SO I don't work, (just a fulltime mom/wife BS1, SD5 and DH) and go to school. I don't know what to buy DH for our first anniversary (of being married) which is May 24. Nor do I have "my own money" because it is "our"... anyway...
We are to be married June 27th, we all live together and have for 3 years. I am in the midst of wedding chaos and am struggling with my sd's place. She is 15 so too old to be in any sand ceremony or sny other kiddish thing, but this is a very big deal for her as well as me. we currently have her walking him down the isle first then the bridesmaids/groomsmen then me and my dad. We are buying her an Irish claddagh ring as a wedding gift to exchange when he and I exchange ours. I am balancing the importance of this to her as well as myself and him.
