Child Support court went pretty well today!

Nise's picture

Court went pretty well today! It took about 2 hours and what was finally worked out was that my husband’s child support increased $31 a month (if you remember they had originally reduced it $60 a month and that is why she requested the formal hearing all this attorney’s fees and MISSED WORK over $60!) and the DID NOT back date the increase, it is effective as of 12-31-06 so he doesn’t owe her back pay!

Who else has gotten this?

Well, I'm probably going to spread out my "story" thus far over several different blogs. Today's issue is how I have been "banned" from having contact with BM. We had been close friends since 13 yrs. old, and even for about 2 or 3 years after I found out about the affair we would still communicate (though not well, for obvious reasons). Then one day it was just "You are not his parent, you don't have anything to do with this, all this should only be between your husband and I". It was like the past 15 years hadn't even happened in her eyes.

I may have figured out what BM was up to...

I think I may have figured out why BM is being so cordial lately. Apparently she has gone behind-the-scenes to re-route the child support payments through the state board of child support enforcement instead of through the courthouse like it was. In turn, they have called in all of the back child support that is owed all at once instead of tacking a small portion of it onto the regular monthly payment like had been previously agreed upon. We got a bill in the mail for upwards of $3k which has us reeling.

UGH, I'M SO FRICKIN' FED UP WITH 'PSYCHO BIO MOM'

monica68's picture

I'm so irritated! Primarily w/'psycho bio mom' but also my husband!
Long story short: she decided 'the kids were staying with [her] for [his] Thanksgiving visit;
For the first time in over 10 years: no response. We didn't fight!
(Please understand he has fought for YEARS for his/the children's rights, both in and out of court with temporary resoulutions but never any lasting closure/results)

SD moves in - what would you do?

Jeanette's picture

Hi, I'm just joined today because I'm so stressed out. Hopefully, your comments will help me.

I have 2 SD(14 and 11). Their Dad and I have two children together (6 and 1). For the last 4 years, SDs have lived with their maternal grandmother. It took us 2 years to figure out they weren't with their mom ever. My youngest SD begged and pleaded with my DH to live with us. My DH went for custody. He lost, $30,000 later. Both SD lied and said they did live with their Mom. So be it.

BM strongly dislikes DH and I. We have nothing in common.

Beyond fed up with BM!

Hello all, I just joined today. I don't know if I fit the traditional definition of a stepmother....I was already married to my husband and BM knew we had a couple kids already when she got pregnant, and I've never divorced my husband. But she insists that I am a stepmother and "need to act like one", meanwhile, anything to do with our own children she never wants to hear about!...she said she "resents" them.

Frustrated Again

Hanny's picture

My boyfriend tell me he loves me, I know he does, but he has such a communication problem. He says it was part of the difficulty with his ex. Okay, so then why doesn't he do something about it. He has difficulty telling me he loves me..actually saying the words. I maybe hear it about once a week. I tell him that I need to hear it more often. He has no problem telling his children he loves them every day...now I'm not comparing myself to the kids..but shouldn't that be easy to say to me too?
