Stepson driving a wedge between my wife and me

RLJ's picture

Just got back from my stepson's wedding, where my stepson cut in on my wife and me while we were dancing. I simply walked away. I seethed with rage for some time, before deciding to leave. I told my wife that I was leaving. She begged me to at least say goodbye to her son, which I told her I could not do. Now I'm in the dog house. Details about the wedding: we never met the girl or her family until the day before the wedding, at the wedding rehearsal. He's dated her for 6 months, and she's pregnant.

Nickname your family members...

quippers01's picture

I read a blog by Last-Wife where she gave nicknames to her family/others and it was a hoot. So I thought I'd like to hear what names you all might come up with for your own families.

H- Captain Oblivious
SD- Princess Oddball
BS- XBox Master
BD- Miss Nevershutsup
BM- I Love that BM also stands for "Bowel Movement" and I think it fits in most cases so I pick that here.
XH- Humpty Dumbass

What have I done?

quippers01's picture

Ok, so we had a good day. Went to my Dad's Company picnic, just H and I. Great day! I swear my good mood had nothing to do with H telling me he was bringing SD home a day early...mostly nothing. Anyway, knowing he is doing this for the sake of my nerves and sanity I feel guilty. Even though I told him I was doing much better and would like hime to spend all the time he can with her. I even told him I would like her to stay. THESE WORDS ACTUALLY CAME OUT OF MY MOUTH! Along with a tiny bit of vomit.

His kids won't even meet me...

kath33's picture

I am engaged to be married around Thanksgiving and I have yet to meet my fiance's two children who live out of the county but he usually visits on weekends. Everytime we have tried to arrange a meeting things have gone haywire. Last time both kids suddenly fell ill and said they couldn't come visit. He says he doesn't want to "traumatize" them by pushing them to meet me but it feels important that I at least meet them before we marry. I understand it is an adjustment for them, but I'm really a person who loves kids and would be kind to them.

My DH...

zenjetset's picture

Please write a good, great, wonderful thing about dh or dw.
Then write a bad, indifferent, difficult, annoying about dh or dw.

Me first...

My dh is really supportive, very understanding, and is just a total and complete sweetheart. I am lucky!!!

My dh still makes mistakes when it involves bm and skids. He tries too hard to be everyones everything. I hate reminding him "he is not bm husband anymore" but she is as much to blame as he is for this. I resent him sometimes as much as I love him. Which by the way...makes for incredible sex!!!

Clothes grow on trees!

MamaBecky's picture

Just got home from the mall with SD13. I took her back to school shopping. She claimed PMS & menstrual cramps/headache the whole time so she was not the most pleasant young lady...yet she managed to pick out 250.00 worth of clothes. Then we leave the mall....and I get no thank you, no I appreciate it...NOTHING. She walks in the door once we get home and dumps the bags of clothes in her room grabs a blanket & a pillow off of her bed, comes out to the living room and flings herself onto the couch.

Woke up to the sound of BM's car door slamming shut... quick updates

Last-Wife's picture

I didn't know she was coming so early. Since I've disengaged it's pretty much been up to the skids to make their own plans with her. I knew Lazy Boye 15 decided to go- it's been since late July that he's been. I was kinda proud of him for going. When it came up in conversation the other night, PITA 16 was like, "Hell, no, I aint going." He's driving now, and I never know where he is. I don't even think Loghead knows where he is half the time. School gets out at 2 on Wednesdays for teacher meetings every week, and PITA didn't get home till nearly 8.

Open House Invite

zenjetset's picture

DH received a text from bm inviting us to school open house. one tiny little problem dh can't make it. Do I dare go it alone?! Knowing that possibly bio grandma and maybe even bioauntie will be there! It could be three against me! I'm not worried really, cause I can hold my own, but I hate it when they go off topic and start discussing things that have nothing to do with kids.

Step Daughter Princesses and their BM Up to No Good...

RB's picture

It seems, ever since my DH, our kids, and I were compliant and attended my step son's wedding that my SK's BM also attended, that my DH's step daughter princesses keep making sure there are events where their BM is that they request for us to attend, and request at the last possible moment for us to show up. I'm getting a little sick of it to say the least. These darlings even brought their BM to a community event where I was working and the company I work for was sponsoring the event. Lucky me.
