My SS10 is signed up for councelling and should be going soon. I've mentioned again and again to SO that he needs help. I'm not sure what it took for BM to realize it, but he is signed up to go now. So that is one good thing. It's not a victory for me since that poor child is the only one that suffered in the meantime... but at least me being on the outside really can see inside at what a child needs. I'm not actually clueless about children just because I don't have any (as SO points out in our arguements)
So with all the crap that us steps go through, how do YOU release your stress? My DH recently bought an Xbox and I wasn't that interested in the games, mostly shoot em up first person war games until last night when he talked me into playing Mortal Kombat with him. Well after beating his ass he gave up. This morning I had a phone call with our atty and afterwards thought "hmmm" so I plugged in the game and trust me, I feel SOOOO much better! I just envision the opoinant as the BM! Totally made my day!
I live for the weekends in that they are a reward for the hectic work/school week. I hate that SD is a feature of every single weekend. I know it sounds bad just saying it like that, but don't feel like going through the whole lengthy justification right now. I know most of you get it.
Here's this week with sperm idiot.....
Please pardon the format as this is a compilation from MANY stepparents (mostly NCP StepMOMS) Stacey13, see #37
1. In Genearal: You knew he had kid(s)when you married him
2.In General: You knew what you were getting into
3.In General: Stepparents should be seen and not heard in the parenting arena
4.In General: Stepparents are not REAL parents.
5.From Skid: You're just dads wife./You're just moms husband
6. From Skid: You're NOT my MOTHER!!/ You're NOT my FATHER!!
7. From BM: Is my check in the mail??
OK to give you all some background, I pick up the skids on a Wednesday from school when their after school clubs have finished. Well yesterday the clubs were not on so I picked them up from their BMs SO house as this is where they live when with BM.
Anyway BM own mother had been ill for some time and we knew she had taken a turn for the worse and she passed away on Monday morning. Now her mother lives about 2.5 hours away so it was going to be a strain on her to sort everything out.
This man killed several people in another state and they tracked him to here where I live 37 years later! That just sent chills up me, how can some do that and then hide in plain sight???
I was so surprised when they said where they found him and he thought he was being arrested for a meth lab! He had forgotten the people he had killed and never thought he would get caught! holy crap that is so close to home! freaking out a little right now. :O
otherwise his damn kids would've made me LEAVE ALREADY!!!!! GOD these kids! I couldn't be more sick of them if I tried! Every damn time they come over, ridiculousness is the letter of the day. They haven't even been in my house for a full hour yet and I'm already wishing I could put them out on the streets! I'm seriously going to leave this house at some point on a weekend we have them, and REFUSE to even answer the phone until they leave. I have plenty of people I can stay with for the weekends, including some single girlfriends who I KNOW I'd get up to no good with.
I need advice on a situation that has presented it's self in my family and it is not going away.
SD 14 wants her own room (her BM started the idea)as we apparantly have a "huge" house.
and her dad my fiance feels really strongly about it and is not willing to comprimise.
we have been a family unit for 3 years.
We are being audited because BM decided the year that CS was increased from $600 to $1000 that now she had the right to claim both kids. For years, (at least 6 or 7) they each claimed 1.
We have roughly a 65/35 split. Nothing is in writing as to who should claim who. Anyone have any experience with this crap. Thoughts on what the IRS will say. Will they take into consideration that they have each claimed 1 for past many years and the only thing that changed last year was an increase of $400 a month in CS?
