My school supply rant:)

goodmom's picture

I got the list of supplies that the girls "need" for the new school year and I was really irritated when I read it. They wanted 3 packs of #2 Pencils, 3 packs of loose notebook paper, 4 single subject composition books, 6 freaking gluesticks, 2 erasers, scissors, a box of 16 count crayons, pencil case, backpack, group hand sanitizer and a box of baby wipes. This is for each kid. I sit just me or does it sound like we are stocking this womans classroom? I am willing to bet all this crap goes on a "community shelf" for everyone to use. The problem is not every kids paretn buys the stuff.

Has anyone ever tried "pushing" the skids to BMs house?

Manda's picture

I know it sounds bad but has any SMs tried pushing the skids to move to their BMs house? FH has joint custody and we always fight and I'm always on edge when they are here. I'm at the point that I'm going to the doctor to get anxiety meds because I can't breathe normally and my heart starts beating faster when they are on their way over. SD12 drives me up the frickin wall every time. She has a huge attitude and expects everything to be given to her without doing anything to earn it.

Any advice anyone

We have full custody. I've had the countdown on my calendar since about the 2nd week of summer break! Between now and school start, we have a visit with G-PA that will take a few days off, so I'm counting about 10 and a half days of SS invasion.

What a rough day...

SD comes home with 3 huge bags of clothes from DH's grandmother. She had taken SD school shopping, she's 6. Honestly. Yes, SD needs clothes for school and I am very thankful that she helped to buy them so that BM doesn't complain to us that she needs MORE money for school stuff. DH and I bought school supplies and DH's grandmother took care of clothes. Not to mention we are going to have to fork out $900 to take SD back to North Carolina this weekend. $900 is a lot when DH's off work from surgery and I only receive a little unemployment.

After the wasted mediation....

Okay, so I did not go with DH. It took 3 hours and the only decision made was that we are going to pay for a counselor that BM/DH agree to but we pay for??
She refused any modification of schedule or cs.
I am feeling very emotional...Our Attorney told BM that we are requesting a court date AND getting a parenting evaluation no more mediation. This will cost about an additional $10k. What I want to know is why did we waste 3 hours in mediation that wasted $1k.
