Am I wrong??

mominmd's picture

I'm new at all of this... I have a daughter who lives with us part time. Its a school district issue. My husband's children live in another state. We have arguments 2 twice a month usually after his visitations. He has not seen his 15 yr daughter since Christmas due to a "boy issue". His 14 yr old son visits when he wants to and his 13 yr old son visits every chance.

OT- Which celebrity does your SO most resemble??

2Bloved's picture

FH is a cross between Josh Dumahel and Shane West. HOT HOT HOT.

On the flip side, which celebrity do you most resemble?

I don't really know, but I've been told that I look like the Asian girl from Snow Dogs. I haven't seen the movie, so I cannot confirm or deny. But then again, most people think all Asians look alike anyway, so who knows.

Had to copy and paster Crayon's response to my earlier blog below.

Run-down-mommy's picture

I have 3 kids and 1 sd (2 of my kids from a previous relationship and the youngest is mine and dh child together) My dh has played the role of an excellent father figure to my children since we got together 2 years ago. More recently we started getting his daughter on a regular basis, every other thursday through sunday. (His ex hasn't quite let go of him and wouldn't let us get sd because I was now in the picture up until court several month's ago when she had no choice but to let us have her) Anyways, like I said he's been an excellent sf, up until we started getting sd regularly.

How old is too old?

yesican's picture

When is a child too old to refer to their parents as Mommy and Daddy? My sd's are 10 and 12 and everytime they call dh daddy. I think that they are getting older and that is kind of childish for their ages. SD 10 writes things like in love with daddy, is that something that is appropriate? and it is always daddy daddy daddy. It is really getting annoying. She also responds with a real snippy tone, dh thinks it is funny, I think it is plain disrespectful and bd's are called out on it by myself and dh when they use that tone.

Useless toys vs. educational toys

emmalee05's picture

What does everyone think about guilty parenting dads that buy only "cool toys" for their kids? my BF insists on buying the coolest toys (most expensive too) such as transformers, toy cars, airplanes, video games, etc, for his son and no books, board games, craft supplies, puzzles. I know men are like big kids themselves and I do remember my dad being the parent that always bought my sister and I the toys we wanted, whereas my mom would be the one that bought us books, colouring, etc.

Tough Week

HeatherM's picture

SS is with us this week, that makes it tough all in itself... but my god! Ok, so since SS8 started counselling, my DH has turned into Disney Dad. I can hardly stand it. He seems to have forgotten his son's name, and only calls him "Buddy", he gives him options like "Well, if you're not interested in dinner, you can go play", I ask "Buddy" questions, and DH answers all of them for him while SS8 just stares at me.. no sorry lears at me. He pee's the bed (but doesn't pee the bed at his Mom's anymore) and all I hear is great job taking the sheets off your bed buddy wuddy.

SD Punishment is annoying me

Jsmom's picture

Okay - I know she is grounded from Facebook and Phone for being disrespectful to me, but I am willing to let the punishment go, since the rest of the house is being punished as well. She is BORED!! I spent last night in my study reading magazines and watching TV since I could not take anymore of her tedious conversations. I know she is 13 and that is annoying enough, but I can not listen to anymore stories about how popular and pretty we are and how much her friends all think so. Also, one more story about lack of compassion for someone else and I swear I was going to scream.
