The system blows tail

I read a comment that I believe was posted in reply to someone's blog yesterday, about how judges get pissed off with pro se litigants. It struck a nerve with me personally because when DH was in & out of court with BM trying to get her to comply with the visitation order he went pro se. With the housing market in the dumps his income suffers. With CS coming out every week it suffers even more. We spoke with the lawyer he had through their divorce & his reply was, "BM is clearly going against what the judge ordered.

CHRISTMAS IS ON THE WAY!!!

renae911's picture

So I was curious about what other people with bio-chilren and step-children do as far as christmas gifts go. I have always spent the same on all the kids in the past. But I feel that our bio-children get somewhat cheated. My husband even verbalized it himself last year. I have a 15 and 16 yearold step daughters from different moms. One lives with us one doesn't. So the one that lives with us- her mom bought her a small flat screen tv and other items. The other one that doesn't live with us got a laptop and everythign else under the sun.

How to bring up to BM that we feel her daughter should stay with her rather than coming to our house...

I fear that SD5 coming to our house is making life harder for everyone involved, especially SD.

Let me preface this with the fact that SD5 (who is not my fiance's child, she is SS3's older sister who visits us when we have custody of her brother) has some very great "moments". She can be loving, affectionate, sweet, and a joy to have around. But these moments are becoming much fewer and far between in the recent months.

Boundaries ....

I live in close proximity from BM.
What’s the proper procedure for dropping things off, etc … She either comes by when she knows I’m not home, or comes by when ExH is there w/ kids. It’s a rare occasion when I’m home …. Very annoying.

Also … the text messages are RIDICULOUS & the amount of them are out of hand!!!! We can be out to dinner and she’s constantly texting him a/b nonsense … telling him how and when to study or do hw w/ kids.

I understand co-parenting, but isn’t there a limit to the communication??
Where’s the barrier???

Had to share something funny with you guys. Last night BF daughter came in the house stomping, slamming the door and yelling as usual, "This dog is stupid! Did you hear me daaaaaaaaaaaaaddy????? This dog is (spelling it out)S-T-U-P-E-D stupid!" Biggrin

LOL....too bad the dog can't understand and get a good laugh outta that one.

Life is so much easier

clairedelune's picture

I've noticed that since I have told SD13 how I felt that life has been so much easier! She doesn't talk to me, barely stands being in the same room and does everything to avoid me. Ok, before I would have been mortified by this because I had the 'we live in the same house and have to get along and since I'm married to her father we have to like each other' attitude but now, I couldn't care less!

Failing Math

stepmom31's picture

SS was made inactive in his 5th grade math class. I know DH is worried. I'm great at math and want to help but we get the kids only on the weekends and they never bring books home from school on the weekend. I asked DH to get SS to bring his math book home, I asked DH to call the teacher and ask her to let SS bring it home. SS is seriously falling behind, and he says his mom only helps him with hard HW questions.

It's amazing how one person, a person I don't ever see, a person I haven't spoken to in over a year can put me in such a horrible horrible mood. I have two stepsons, both of which are involved in swimming lessons, soccer and now hockey. Everytime there is a game my oldest SS asks if I am coming to watch. Sadly, over the last year I have had to make up a million different excuses as to why I am not coming. Oh how I wish I could tell him the reason! That his mother does not want me there...EVER! So we played nice and did it her way for a year hoping that would give her time to come around.

BMs and bedtime, part 2

Mamma Jamma's picture

Well, turns out it doesn't matter when Sybil calls...called this afternoon while they were out playing. Alls well, DH tells them to come inside (after 2 hours outside mind you) and SD melts down. "Noooooo I hate you I hate SS I hate (MJ) I hate everyone waaaaah!" The last time they were out playing she was told it's time to come in, she whined a little then was fine. Total bratty temper tantrum this time. Screaming, backtalking her dad, the works. Even threw in "I wanna go hooooome!
