This is my 1st blog and to be honest wish I had done something like this ages ago or maybe things wouldn't have got so bad Sad I am 29, married with a 6 year old SS. As I write this I am sitting in bed in my mum's house as I have had to move out of my marital home after another failed weekend of the SS being over.

SLOB SD!!!!

SD 11 just doesn't care!! She is the most lazy person in the house and pretty flippin sloppy. She's even commented how I think shes my maid!! She said this to me because I made her empty the food catcher that was full of food in the sink one night after she did the dishes!! She half ass does what she does actually do, and tells her Dad she'll do stuff when he asks her and won't do it!! I have to make her take showers and brush her teeth!! Whats gonna happen when she starts her periods??!!

Countdown Continues :)

Since I haven't been paying attention, the days are flying by! It's only 130 more days until the last skid turns 18.

Recent victories include:

1. getting along with dh for an entire week without mentioning skids/bm
2. not letting sd dump her dog on me, drop into my life and screw up my day
3. surviving the financial crunch....of not having enough money to pay off all the bills

I'm not even mad at BM today because I haven't had to talk about or think about her or the stupid skids in like weeks. (except sd, but i cut those apron strings).

SD5 says she just CAAAAAAANT do it

So she went to school today (kindergarten) and got an orange card. (not good) for snatching a paper rudely from her teacher and refusing to participate when it was time to write in her journal. We met them (SD, BM & SF) for dinner. SD was VERY well behaved tonight, ate well, and only had to have a reminder or two regarding table manners. (cover mouth when cough, dont talk with mouth full) She did very well.

Update on skids and my mess

Skids are doing really well. DH however is on a mission to ensure that they stay on track. New house rule he initiated this evening: For every hour of TV watched there will be an hour of reading, for every hour of electronic games played there will be 1.5 hours of reading. The skids are groaning but he is determined to see their comprehension and retention of materials read improve. They can read whatever they like, so long as they read and it isn't porn. Yes skid#2 jokingly asked his dad if the articals in playboy counted.

dh's custody agreement is a few shades of gray and bm said POINT BLANK about taking MY money!?

happymostly's picture

dh just went about a week ago to get his final custody agreement settled. thank GOD dh's lawyer said bm didnt have to be there since she already signed it, a judge just had to sign off on it and make it official. Because we already knew that lately bm has been acting shiesty and moody and would probably try to claim that she didnt agree to any of it, AND because she agreed to lower dh's CS payments! Which they werent that much anyway, but he was supposed to be getting her more, but he has since moved back here about an hour and a half away.

Funny Coded Conversations in front of skids :)

Riding in the car.

Me: Do you think the French would erect a levitation contraption if they were just going to have to take it down again?

FDH: The French? Sorry?

Me: I mean, if French people had just bought a levitation contraption and then gone through all the work to put it up, do you think that would mean they're not relocating after all?

FDH: French people have levitation contraptions?

Me: Some of them . . .

FDH: I have NO IDEA what you're talking about right now.

Introduction: my sorta fairy tale

It's become clear to me that I'm going to be a member of this site for a very long time. I've committed to life as a stepmom and I have no illusions about the fact that I will need advice (as well as a safe place to rant) for the next 18 years, if not longer. So, I guess this is the official start of my blog . . .

I'm twenty-six, working on a masters degree, and extremely new to the step-mom circus. I'm engaged to the most wonderful man on earth, which unfortunately means his crazy ex will be a part of my life for the next 16+ years. So here's the situation:
