After SS13 birthday party last Friday, BF asked me to stay until he came back from dropping off the skids to BM so we could talk. We spoke a lot, we both expressed how we were feeling and how a lot of the stresses around us such as BM, finances and my job just to name a few are affecting how we communicate, hence why there are so many arguments and the constantly going around in circles.
We are just taking baby steps for now, too many things to tackle at once.

And then….

Guilt parenting...how much success have y'all had at changing it?

FH is very bad at spoiling the kids. He caters to their every whim and drives them anywhere they want to go anytime of the day or night. What's worse is that he always does it with a smile and is so sweety sweet to them...and takes all his anger and frustrations out on me. Way not fair.

The thing is that alot of his guilt parenting needs to change...our counselor told him as much. We're trying to have him see the counselor for his alone sessions and they can work out how to change his parenting style.

I'm getting a bit nervous about today’s counseling session

I'm getting a bit nervous about today’s counseling session. My plan is to begin to direct the sessions around the relationship between myself, DW, and SD13. The sessions focus has been on and off that topic. The counselor wants us to try to strengthen my wife and I as a couple, but SD is going to end us.

OK Weekend

I really like this SS16 working thing-the household gets a break from his incessant gaming. However I am wondering how long he will get to keep this job? Case in point was Sunday morning, DH was working and could not cater to SS16 re waking him up for work-SS16 was supposed to work for 9:00am (as some of you know, he does not get out of bed before noon on the weekends)-I was having a cup of tea at 9:30am when the phone rang, it was SS16 work-"Is Zippy there?"-

Sure enough -SS16 was snoozing happily away-I dropped the phone on the bed and told SS to talk to his boss.

I am ready for prozac.

DH and I picked up SS14 and SS13 at BMs. SS14 seemed to be in a bad mood (usually he is after a weekend with her) and DH asked him what was wrong.....SS14 (got emotional like he always does.)

Background......BM moved out of a rent free house that her mother owns to paying rent for the first time in 3 years. According to the kids, she wasn't supposed to be having any pets. BM had 2 dogs and got rid of 1 but keep the older pet the boys had had since they were a lot younger.

BM trying to force SS to talk to BF about custody

Nymh's picture

BF got a phone call from BM earlier tonight. He could hear SS protesting in the background that he "didn't want to", but BM said that SS wanted to tell BF something, and put SS on the phone. SS talked about everyday things and tried to keep the subject away from what his mom had put him on the phone for. BF asked him if his mom had something she wanted SS to tell him. SS said "Yes" but then lost reception. BM called BF back and BF asked her what it was that she wanted SS to talk to him about.
