So, I talked to my SD14 when she got home from school and told her that she has an option. Either she can come clean with her father on her own or I will do it for her. I'm trying to get her to take responsibility for her actions. She is not speaking to me now, and I'm sure she HATES me. Typical teenage reaction to not getting their way. She doesn't want to be like BM, but she acts just like her all the time. I'm trying to get her to learn the difference between the way BM acts and the way she wants to be.
I am wondering if I am the only one out there who struggles contantly with my SS? He has been in my life for 8 years now and as time goes by, I dislike him more and more. When he was 6, his behavior was fine, but at 14, it is not. He hasn't changed much over the years and it is terribly frustrating.
saying such lies about my wife, myself and the kids. Therapy isn't working, trying to show her we believe her and trust her isn't working, giving her the benefit of the doubt isn't working...she literally doesn't know the truth from the lies anymore. I really wish I didn't care about this kid because i'd walk away...but I do care. Any advice would be greatly appreciated because I truly have tried everything and the only thing that seems to scare her is the idea of going to live with her BD full time.
...woke up happy simply because I was happy yesterday. Interesting concept! Can even enjoy a few laughs with PITA and his friend, as they eat all my food and work on homework together. PITA was yelling at the other kid that the answer was on the map in the back of the book. PITA then broke into song, singing Dora's "I'm the map, I'm the map, I'm the map!"
From a 15 yo skid with no sense of humor or niceness towards me, this just actually made me bust out laughing, and he looked at me and laughed too...
Last summer, SD16 decided she didn't like me and asked her dad not to invite me on their times together because he only sees them every other weekend and one night a week.
Well after my SD being out for 3 months it has been wonderful but my husband had moved out also to be with her we're trying parenting classes and counseling, first i'm going , then husband and I , eventually with her. His lease will be up in August when and if things go well they are coming back to the house. Has anyone been through something similar? Separation then try it again one more time? It's such a confusing period and has put strain on the marriage because of the separation but the only happy one here is her since she doesn't have to share Dad at all.
DH has been walking around here today like someone just shot his dog. I ask him what's wrong, his reply is always nothing. Hello, I'm not STUPID I can tell when somethings wrong but god forbid you talk to me about it. If I could smack some sense into him I would, but that'd be spousal abuse...Just needed to say something about it before I ripped him a new one.
Here's something that happened a few months ago. We have the kids every other weekend. On one of our weekends off, we go out downtown to have a few drinks with friends. While walking down the street, we see BM notice us and dive into a bar to hide. Just so happens, that was where we were going. I stay behind with my friend so I don't get in the middle of this. FH (future husband) goes wild because he's pissed that she's not home with the kids. After all, can't she go out on the weekends she has off?
SD17 is required to be in tutoring by CO---"DH shall obtain tutoring for SD for any class she is getting below a C in. BM shall make sure SD is at tutoring for any scheduled appointments during her EOWE visitation." This is a 17 yr old, who is very busy. DH has 2 of her 3 tutoring sessions on the weekends right now, because both tutors can only do it on the weekends. Fine. BM has a problem w/this. So she tells DH NOT to schedule anymore tutoring sessions for HER(BM), that she will do it.
