First of all for those that have noticed, sorry I have been MIA. I had family in from out of town and we had a big celebration for my grandfather this last weekend.... anyway
So BM asked if I would go along with her and DH to the endocrinologists for SD on Wednesday and I agreed. They are going to show us how to give SD her shot if her Addison's causes her to have an attack or if a serious injury were to happen. This ought to be fun...
Just an update and to give a little bit of hope for those dealing with BM's and SD's from hell. My SD does not live with us after suing us two years ago to live with mom. Still irritated by the way it was all handled, but it is not really a day to day issue anymore.
My OSD was asking me this recently. She said the teachers at her school call them "young adults" but also sometimes say, "you kids." She said they do that at all grade levels in this school (she's a senior in HS and has been going to this school since the beginning of her freshman year). She was saying she, along with her friends, was confused by where they stand, as the teachers are overheard telling other kids, "you need to show respect for adults" but then say, "you are old enough to know not to act like this."
I took today off for a mental health day. It was a good idea. I realized that I need to go on anti-depressants and made an appointment to see a doctor this evening. I realized that I have become really depressed and anxious all of the time. I am not sleeping well. When I do, I have anxiety-laden dreams. I can't focus on work. I am not enjoying my life the way I used to. I have to do something about this.
DH has been letting the kids play with his wedding ring. He calls it the one ring to rule them all. I've told him repeatedly that I feel very uncomfortable watching his 6 year old son run around with it because he can loose it. (This is the ring that I gave to him when we got married in the Carribean and I just feel that it's irreplacable and it's not just another toy for the kids to play with.) I made sure that it was made of tungsten for the very specific fact that if he ever caught his hand on something at work it would break, hopefully, before any real damage was done to his hand.
Anyone had an issue with a skid incessantly lying? I got my hair done by the same lady who did SD7's hair and the hairdresser told me that SD7 told her that me and her father weren't married and that I was just his girlfriend. She also maintained the lie's of abuse going on in the house. We've had DSS in our house twice because of her false claims and they always see that her and my BD2 have a warm, loving home and SD7 is just having trouble coping with the fact that BM no longer lives there.
YAY! Dh worked it out so the Bull mastiff dog (who is part pit) is going to go live with ss19. Ss19 just moved into his own tiny one bedroom house but it has a big fenced yard. Yesterday we called him and asked if he could take the dog if we help him with the expense of getting the dog fixed and help out with food if needed. Ss19 can bring him on visits weekly.
I had a conversation with FDH about SD's writing on the wall of her room and what I considered to be atrocious behavior on July 4th. His reaction was that he is going to talk to SD Thursday when she's here about writing on the wall, make her clean it up and any other (non-existent) marks on the wall as a consequence. He really doesn't think it's a huge deal. I am sure he'll forget about it by the time she arrives. He also thinks her behavior at the block party was just "what happens when you bring an intensely shy kid to a party". He also thinks her appearance was fine.
So, BM was *supposed*to be handling getting the skids signed up for day camp for the summer. She lied to FDH and said it was all done and set in stone weeks before school ended for the summer. We found out the Friday afternoon before the week it should have started that in fact, she had not gotten them registered because “they were full.”
I’m putting little in quotes because my SS is 27 yrs old and is 6’4” and weighs like 230
Where do I start?
