My brother wants to marry a BM :(

newbiestepmom25's picture

My brother came to me and asked me how he should propose to his GF. I choked on my broccoli and feta pizza. This girl is 22 and has two kids by two different fathers. She dresses like she just stepped off a pole. Every time I see her she has a bottle or a glass of alcohol in her hand. She makes me think of how BM2 probably was when she was younger. She is always cursing at her kids and she believes in spanking even her youngest who is only 2. I don't understand what my brother sees in her. I think he will be making the biggest mistake of his life by marrying her.

So we are visiting SS8 at the group home today and he's just not seeming to progress. I really truly believe now that its not just BM being lazy, abusive or neglectful. BS7 speaks and functions better than this SS8. SS8 doesn't want to do anything that requires trying, he is starting to act like he doesn't know how to tie his shoes, which he does. He just expects everything to be like he sees it on the tv such as trying to play yard baseball or even folding clothes...he talks like a kindergartener. He cannot read a for sale sign.

Is bm starting to react?

msg1986's picture

So bm has started texting dh pictures of ss5 when he was a newborn. Dh and bm do not usually text pics of ss to each other. This is also after bm finding out that we got married and Suddenly announcing her engagement to her new boyfriend of a couple months. Maybe this is bm's way of acting out?? Have any of you seen this behavior? By the way text with pics happen when ss is with us so I know it's not him maybe seeing pics of himself as a baby and wanting to send them to his daddy.

Doing the same to BM? Advice please!

Ok, so kids sports seems like a petty thing to squabble about but it's apparently going to create a huge issue over here. Let's start with some background info. DH and BM have joint legal and shared physical custody. We have skids thur-sun 3 weeks a month during the school year, split school holidays (although somehow she ends up offering us most of the time and we of course accept) and all summer with BM getting every other weekend. She ends up getting slightly more a year than we do. For the last 3 years she has always been the one to sign ss7 up for sports.

DH buying stuff for SDs

Do you think a stepparent should have a say in what their spouse buys their children?

For example, my husband and I - we have separate finances, but we still usually discuss things we're buying. Even if it's personal. For example, clothes, shoes, even if each is buying with their own money. But when he's buying for SDs, he doesn't consult me, he buys whatever they ask for and sometimes doesn't even tell me. I get a bit upset over this. Maybe I don't have a reason but it just feels wrong.

Letting Go For Students

WillieScharpman's picture

Students need to let go at times and enjoy themselves. They should be able to live a balanced life whereby they have time to study as well as have fun. Having fun for students ensures that they take their time off studies and use the time to interact with friends and family.

This helps them to relax their mind and gather enough energy for another day of hard work in school. Students can engage in several activities that will help them relax and have fun at the same time.

Looking for Peace: Letter to biomom

BelleTolls's picture

I'm writing you a letter that you will never read, and that is okay, because I want you to know I'm writing this not out of anger or to point fingers at you, but to explain where I am at, not that you care, but maybe because if you could know, it would bring down the wall I know you have built so high up around you.

Weird kid at the pool today.

doll faced sm's picture

So if any of you read my forum post, you know I wasn't home for lunch. DD2 and I were at the pool.

Anyway, a little girl about 4 or 5 approaches me and asks me "Does she (DD2) have a floaty?"

I told her yes, but we're in very shallow water, so she's not wearing it.

Then the little girl says to me, "I want her to drown."

I just kept playing w/ DD and ignored the little girl, but how effing weird is that!?
