Who is the Issue?

So DP has been gone for over a week and I have had SDs for part of this time on my own. And get this: no problems. Maybe a bit of whining here or there around bed time but that's cut off quick and bed time is done. Told DP tonight that they have been great.

I am flying alone with them to meet him tomorrow and have zero worry.

Food for thought for DP.

A Trend I Noticed...

So, there hasn't been too much drama lately. Everyone is getting along really well the last month. I do think it's because I have really, really backed off a lot, disengagement at it's finest.

We've had some big stuff going on too:

* DP's dad will pass in the next day so he had to leave very quickly with little planning. He'll probably be gone almost two weeks which will put us to the start of spring break. Ok, wow. Just got a call that he just passed. DP will likely stay there at this point.

Last Straw in Kitchen

So last night I told DP SD11 needs to clean up her lunch making mess in the mornings after she packs her lunch. There was stuff all over the counter last night. I left it there. Today we are leaving for a long weekend (just DP and I) so I stayed in bed until everyone left.

OMG. The 11 YO Drama.

So Sd11 and Sd9 rush into the house and immediately are out of control. But, not my problem. So they are up in Sd11 room and all of a sudden Sd11 is yelling at her sister for doing something and then bursting into a drama of a tear-fest. I let her wail for a few minutes but she kept on going....
Me, in the middle of cleaning kitchen/doing laundry/making myself dinner: "Sd11 are you bleeding?"
Sd11 after gaining a breath, and a repeat of my question, "Nooo."
Me: "Ok then good. Take a deep breath and slowly let it out."
Sd11: cryyyyy cry wail like she's dying

Calm Week Big Decisions

A calm week.

And a lot done.

No SDs since last Friday morning, our off weeks we have Friday night - Wednesday mornings to ourselves. Friday he took me out for an amazing evening yet again.

Anyway, DP made sure to tell me he is going to be all over SD11 about her bathing. He admitted he was pretty horrified at the state she got into last week. I just have to remember to keep my mouth shut about it so he can notice himself.

Bath Time

Holy crap!!
I left the living room and on my way back DP was yelling, really yelling!, at SD11 to get in the shower NOW!
SD11: but it's 9:00!
DP: we discussed this earlier and it's not too late. Shower now. You stink!
(I think my mouth fell open at this point)
SD11, storming by me yelling at DP: Well you smell too!
Door slam, shower starts.
