Yep Cover out!

So DH and I had plans to meet up at the end of my office holiday party (employees only) then go out and get his shopping done because I'm the only one who knows what SDs want. Then go out to dinner. He cancelled. Because of work. Which is fine. Except he needs to work b/c he spent half the day shuttling SD10 around and going to grocery store (for beer and chocolates from what
I can tell). And kitchen was a mess when I got home and dinner hadn't even been started. If I hadn't been hungry I wouldn't have cooked but it's just as easy to make spaghetti for one as it is for four.

Holiday Madness

I'm almost done with my holiday shopping and within by "smaller by far than last year" budget so far!

I didn't get too much stuff, SD10 provided a nice little list so I got two things off of that for her, my sister is getting her another and it's up to DH to do the rest. I'm going to add those to his Amazon account list and walk away.

SD12's bday gift is done and I still need to get her Xmas gifts, but that'll be done by DH because I ended up getting a bunch of stocking stuffers on behalf of DH for SDs instead.

DH Steps Up

DH was pretty great last night.

We are having dinner together talking about Thanksgiving and the next couple weeks (our town has a holiday festival this weekend and then it's SD12's 13th Birthday, then of course Xmas.

DH then tells me, "You know, the SDs are going to be at BMs this weekend."
Me, "Really? But isn't it your week?" (they are 50/50 and BM had them almost all Thanksgiving week).

So last night, DH told me someone used an old account of his, to get online access at an airport recently. He initially thought it was someone hacking his account but then remembered SD12 has a friend who recently traveled through there...he suspects SD12 (who used to use the account for access while commuting) gave this friend her password some time ago...and also explains why DH's bills were so high for a while. His reaction, "Well, at least I cancelled it entirely so no one can use it any more." Pause...nothing more.

Upcoming Holidays

Lord help me I spoke too soon recently about NOT having any issues with SDs....until the freaking HOLIDAYS are upcoming and SDs get ALL freaked out about them, esp. SD12. Who wants all the trappings but doesn't want to help or do anything but reap the benefits.

What I didn't do this weekend

SDs were with us.

* I didn't drive anyone but myself anywhere.

* I didn't cook anything I didn't want to cook.

* I didn't do anyone's laundry, dishes, or pick up after anyone else (except to throw away a pair of really dirty socks left in the living room).

* I didn't comment on the fact that the SDs laundry done by DH included no underwear for SD12, three pairs of socks (one for SD12 and two for SD10) and a few other paltry items for them and this was our WEEK with them. Just Gross.

OT - potential drain issue

Ok, so it's not that gross, but needs to be taken care of.

I noticed earlier in the summer (after SDs had been with us for their three weeks and while we were prepping for house repairs to begin...so I remember when I noticed it) that one of the pipes in the crawlspace of the house looked wet. I did some research on it, and decided to wait until the weather cooled off to check it again because it could have been condensation.
