Door

Cover1W's picture

So I come home and front door is not locked. Again.
A minor appliance that should be unplugged (the shoe dryer) is not, so it's constantly emitting a low warm airflow I think for two days now based on when DP last used it.
Other various things that I can ignore.

I bring up shoe dryer when DP is in mudroom, since he's the one complaining about the electric bill.

Nutella

Cover1W's picture

DP bought TWO Costco size Nutella's over the holidays, I looked at him like he was nuts when be brought them home, "Hey, it's Christmas!" Ooookaaaay.

Joy of joys this weekend as I was cleaning out the pantry (leaving the empty chip bag there instead of tossing it into the middle of the kitchen...oh, I didn't know we were out, I don't buy those anyway...) what did I discover?

The second Nutella jar OPEN with a spoon still in it from last week's SD visit.
Into the trash it went, 3/4 full and semi-gooped up.
Hard rule: food not closed, it goes into trash.

O/T - Job Upgrade!

Cover1W's picture

What's with all the good news about jobs?!

I was just told by my Associate Director that I likely have the job I applied for, that the directors need to meet with my likely-to-be new supervisor and I already have a meeting with HR set up for next week. I also know now which office would be mine.
It'll be within the same department, a new group (just two of us).

This is like a job I would have created for myself if I could, training others to do it and (hopefully) keeping a piece of my current job so I can stay on top of what's going on in "the pits" so to speak.

Engaged! Bathroom!

Cover1W's picture

We moved into our house in the spring.
I made it crystal clear that I would not clean the SDs rooms or bathroom.
DP would have to teach them how to do so.

End of summer, bathroom had still NEVER been cleaned. It was disgusting.
I gave DP warning, he didn't do anything about it, so I cleaned it.
In record time because I was so mad.
He was all, "but you didn't give me time to do it, you just did it."
Yes, I did and you DON'T want it to get to that state again or you will regret it DP.

Things Said

Another peaceful disengagement weekend.
Had to engage a bit more today though since DP ate something that disagreed with him yesterday and he wasn't feeling that great and didn't stray far from the bathroom.

SDs clean clothes piled up in the laundry room because no one removed them from the dryer and no way was I folding them. I suspect they will remain there tomorrow at which time I will move them to DPs office. The leggings left on the floor in trash, SD12 about ready to lose another pair of socks to trash.

One month up

Cover1W's picture

The end of this weekend will be my first month of disengagement.
DP is starting to feel the effects at this point.

HE has to make sure SDs are fed and that there's food for them to eat and pack lunches. He ran out of stuff for them last week. Me? Don't care.

Knock me over with a Feather

Cover1W's picture

Just so you know I am STILL disengaged, last night will not effect my general involvement...

So it's my birthday on Saturday and SDs won't be with us (rarely will due to their schedules).
SD12 got a bug in her bonnet that she HAD to talk with DP, RIGHT AWAY.
Then she asked me a little while later what I wanted for my birthday. Knowing this would be coming from DP, I let her know. She RAN to DP.

First complete D weekend...

Cover1W's picture

Went pretty well actually.
Disengagement was good!

DP wanted me to meet him for dinner out Friday but I had a busy day at work and just wanted a shower and my PJs, luckily he thought it was funny I turned down a date with him. Watched a movie of my choice, which the SDs liked as well (didn't invite them but they watched it with no complaints).

Real D day 1

Disengagement full on day 1:

I posted this on another blog but here's it...totally disengaged. Yesterday was the first day of complete disengagement from everything.

* I didn't say one word to SD12.

* SD9 very nicely asked if I could help her with a homework question (DP was actually helping her with her homework but couldn't figure this one out). So I helped her work it out, then sent her back to DP.

Doll Chronicles

Cover1W's picture

So SD9s friend (TF) had a sleepover at BMs this weekend. My good friend is TFs mom.
We had a little chat yesterday because she wanted me to know what happened. Apparently the SDs got in a huge, huge fight which disturbed TF.

Here's what happened: SD12 sold SD9s American Girl doll. SD9 couldn't find it, found out it was gone. Fight. SD12 then agreed to give SD9 her (no longer used) AG doll. All good. Then Sunday morning SD12 wants the doll back. SD9 refuses and all hell breaks loose. Apparently BM knew nothing about any of this until Sunday.
