That make you go, Wow! She got it!

Last night SD10 was on a roll.

She was in the kitchen with DH and closed the cabinet doors behind him (he is one of those people that leaves doors and drawers open). Then she looked at me, I was laughing, and gave her "thumbs up" and she giggled - she's an organizer like me.

Then later I was sitting in a chair next to a little table, SD10 was on the couch, and I asked her to hand me a coaster. She did so, and then realized she had left a partially done art project on the table I was using. She said, "Oh, let me move that out of the way..." and moved it. I had to stop her because it wasn't in my way and it was ok to leave it.

I'm like, right on.

SD12 meanwhile was talking about how annoying it is to pick up her dirty socks and mess from the living room...DH actually told her it's about keeping the house livable.

It was like an alternate universe or something.

(OK, SD10 is generally pretty good anyway, but still)

Yeah, that happened with SD10 when I worked with her one time to clean her room so I could get a dresser in her room. "Poof" and everything was clean and organized since.

She also enjoys cooking so I've been teaching her how to use herbs/spices now and how to properly choose and use a knife. She loves it; I don't disengage with her as much as with SD12.
Maybe she'll change as she gets older, but as long as she gets the gist of it I'm good.

I was a clean, organized kid and never lost that. I hated cooking as a kid/teen though and now I really like it.

My sister was a wreck and now she's a super neat person (even a little too neat if you ask me). She still hates cooking.

I think SD12 will always be messy and always hate to cook, so I don't bother trying there.
