Mother of the Year
Or should I say FOSTER Mother of the Year. The Girhippo tried fostering, for the $$$$, of course, which lasted about 5 nanoseconds. Seeing that parenting ISN'T her forte, the moment foster kid got into a conflict with OSS, at the time 14, out the door foster kid went.

SS15.5 is DIgressing
Got his "I-Ready" report (IEP progress report?) and he actually has gone DOWN 50 points since the beginning of the school year when he was first tested. Just Wow.
Every score was "needs improvement." Hard to do an IEP when you're always truant. Just sayin'
9th grade is ending and he is at a 6th grade level in all subjects...6th grade IEP level, not Regents scores
Once again, way to go Girhippo and StepDaddyBigBucks.

Radio Silence
On social media as regards SD(19) and yes we are still forking out mass quantities of CS, which according to the CO, is contingent on her being in college. Grades came out on 5/24 and the semester was officially over on 5/18. . . Even though Chef qualified via FERPA to see her grades, we also got the silent treatment from the initially cooperative registrar. Haven't heard a peep from him since the Girhippo and SD found out that Chef was trying to have college performance stipulations for CS.

YSS 15 is Well On His Way
to academic failure. Similar to his older siblings, although more pronounced. The Girhippo has gotten him labeled "learning disabled" as she did for SD. Speaking with my DIL who is an elementary school teacher, "learning disabled" can be MISinterpreted as "lack of desire to do schoolwork and the refusal of parents to do anything about it" IOW shoddy ass parenting. Very sad.

Semi O/T Spring is Here and Weeding is Cathartic
Spent yesterday and today weeding whilst Chef was on his jobs. Sunday he works a second job to partially officially cover massive CS. Cleaned out all the Creeping Charlie and Robin run the Hedge that was intermingled in my 100 sqft plot of raspberries which is next to my 75 foot plot of bee balm. Note to self: put mulch down sometime between dormant pruning and warm weather!!

Spin Off on Skids Eating Fast Food
. . .IN VEHICLES!!! Who else had to put up with dead french fries found between seat cushions, fast food wrappers with partially eaten remains, the smell of spilled, soured chocolate milk and to add to it the faint odor of urine and skid feet??

Co-worker Enmeshed with DD?
I have a co-worker who has one daughter (21) years old. Said daughter changed her major from Engineering to Anthropology (nice, but impractical). This co-worker still goes to every doctor appt with her 21 year old daughter (to me that is a bit uncomfortable) and they go mommy/daughter shopping together for clothes all.the.time.

2nd Wife Financial Tips (This Bears Reposting!)
Found this on a forum here and it bears repeating/reposting:
* A smart woman will not acquiesce to unreasonable requests from their partner. If you have to move 30 minutes further from work, sell your home and live in their home for no reason other than they don't want to move, even to a new home, chances are it is a red flag for the relationship. In marriage, most things are up for discussion and compromise. If he will not compromise before marriage, chances are he will also not compromise after.

For Those Of Us Who Are Also BMs
what are you doing for Mother's Day?
In my case DS and DIL have purchased tickets to a Mother's Day Brunch at a winery in their area. I usually don't have a problem cooking even on MD and hosting, but this year I'm looking forward to sittting back and relaxing!! Chef does do a lot of the cooking and cleanup during the week though but still will be enjoyable. We will also be doing DIL's b-day along with DD and SIL's 14th anniversary (via skype).

I'm Trying To Figure Out How these NCP BMs (and NCP biodads)
Can get away with being so far in arrears in CS?? Chef got a nasty gram the other day from CSEU re: being in arrears for $800 with threats of incarceration and confiscation of driver's license for $800. That's ONE MONTH behind.
And a "payment plan" that demands an extra $97 a week until he is caught up (with nothing to sign or to agree to; just do it). Little do they know $700 was received/crossed in the mail to catch up.
