TMI ALERT: If you're disturbed by talk about poop, don't read on.

For the background, I'm a stbSM of 4....SD15 and SDstb12 with BM1, and SS5 and SSstb4 with BM2. I get along great with all of my skids, get along great with BM1, and relationship has improved with BM2 to the point where we can sit and chat at shared events, sometimes text pics of the kids, etc.

Successful vacation with skids

SO and I went on our first vacation alone with SD15 and SDstb12. We went to California last summer but his mother was with us and I only stayed for 3 days. It was actually really successful! We rented a condo in a beach community. The girls had their own room and we spent a ton of great time together. SD15 and SD11 were helpful and nice to each other, and nice to me. In fact, they were begging for attention, wanting me to swim with them, search for shells, etc.

Update on Bridesmaid Dress Shopping

I forgot to say how it went, in case anyone was wondering.

SD15 and SD11 had a great time! They were both supportive and complimentary of each other. They both found dresses that they loved, and I agreed. We ordered them and they came in. We all picked them up and they tried them on for their dad, and he loved them as well. Both girls lit up when they tried them on, and seem genuinely happy. They still seem excited for the wedding and want to be involved. They are both crafty and have been on pinterest looking for things to make and help with.

Taking SD15 and SD11 Bridesmaid Shopping Tomorrow

I've asked SD15 and SD11 to be bridesmaids in my and DF's September wedding. I get along REALLY well with SDs and they truly are great kids. Their BM is also great, compared to many on here. Sure she says some annoying things but 99% of the time she is a normal rational and even thoughtful BM.

The girls seem very excited about the wedding. They've asked tons of details and are already talking about how they want to do their hair, etc.

OT - Is there no wedding etiquette anymore?

Maybe this is me being old fashioned (I'm 27!) but I can't believe the lack of basic etiquette in regards to weddings these days!

My fiancee and I are planning our wedding, which is 6 months from Friday. We made our guest list and sent out save the dates. Our venue can do the reception indoors or outdoors. We wanted to do it indoors, which seats a max of 120. We've already invited 200!!! Granted, a lot of people are international relatives who we know won't come but is more of a courtesy invite. DF is from England and I have a lot of family in Italy.

LOL ran into SD15 in Victoria Secret

CBCharlotte's picture

I remember there was a post a few weeks ago about SDs and Victoria Secret so I thought I would share this.

We've had some snow here in NC, and since we don't normally get snow they can't handle it. SD11 and SD15 had off of school Friday for a teacher work day, Monday for President's Day, and Tuesday and Wednesday for snow days. They were going stir crazy! My work was also slow so I decided to take them and 2 friends to the mall for a bit on Wednesday afternoon.

SO made the girls do yardwork!

As some of you know, I like my skids and they are generally good kids. One of my only gripes about them is they are a bit lazy, which I know comes with the age (Sd11 and SD14) They do not actively seek to help out around the house, which I know I didn't at that age.

I told SO in advance that he needed to tell the girls that they will be bagging leaves this weekend. I was very serious about it....last time they were here he and I bagged leaves while they sat inside and watched TV, and I was not about to let that happen again!
