DH is now on his 4th day of work and it's going well. The commute stinks - between 50 mins and an hour 20 mins each way. We traded in our 2015 BMW X3 (paid off) and got a 2019 Toyota Rav4 Hybrid ($150/mo payment which we will pay off when we get our tax refund - The BMW took premium gas and got 15mpg in stop start traffic, the hybrid takes regular gas and has been getting 40mpg). The Toyota also has this cool cruise control lane assist where we set it and it basically drives for you (stays in the line, speeds up, slows down, stops, etc along with the cars in your lane). A lot of his rid
It’s official! After 3 years, 10 months, and 1 day, DH is employed!!! The background check finally was completed and he got the email from HR with his official April 29th start date!
Thanks so much for all of your support over the last few years and everyone’s positive notes and thoughts.
Yestesday, I had an MRI and meeting with my oncologist. Many of you know I've had 3 cancer scares in the last 2 years, including 2 biopsies which were thankfully all negative. Every time I go in for a check, they find something.
Well, this time I had my MRI and then a few hours laster a meeting with my oncologist and got the ALL CLEAR!!! No suspicious spots, no biopsy or surgery needed! This is the first all clear I've had in 2 years, such a releif!
31st. I need to pick myself and be happy, but having a hard time doing so. We are at my parents’ beach house with DH, our dogs, MIL, my sister and her fiancée, my parents, and our sort of adopted nephew Jake. (Long story but his mom died in 9/11 when he was 6 mos. old and his dad wasn’t really in his life. He’s 17 now. We met him at a wedding 2 years ago and he and DH hit it off over their love of soccer. He and DH talk often on messenger and he’s kind of become our adopted nephew.
As an OT-ish update, I read (and reread and reread) all of your replies to my last blog, and you are all right. As much as I want a baby, now is NOT the time. DH needs to find work. Ever since our chat he has been more active than ever. Applied to a bunch of jobs (got rejections), did a few photography gigs from Craigslist, even applied to work at Whole Foods. BM2 is helping him try and get an opporutnity at her big consulting firm again. The recruiter who is assigned to him is useless and BM2 knows her, so she is riding this recruiter hard to get something done. MIL is visiting fro
As some of you know from my past blogs, having a baby has been on my mind a lot, and really starting to weigh on me. DH and I took the dogs for a walk at the beach this weekend (my parents have a shore house) and I kind of went off. I said "I don't want to get divorced, but if more and more time goes by of me not having a baby while we pay for other children you made with someone else, the resentment is going to build and it will lead to that". I talked about my frustration with him "attempting" to be a photograpgher. I said it feels like he likes the theory of it rather than actually d
So proud of SS7! SS has struggled with reading this and last year a lot, to the point we thought he may be dyslexic. He has worked really really hard this year, and we read with him over facetime most nights. Got this text from BM2 today (to DH and I):
Late to post. We were down in TX visiting SS8 and SS7 during Mother's Day weekend. We got to BM2's house on Friday about 20 minutes before the bus came. We went inside and hung out. BM2 was upstairs working, so we just hung out downstairs. BM2 and Stepdad have a daughter who is about 3 who loves to chat on facetime when we're talking to the boys and knows us. She came down and hung out and played with me, she's very sweet.
Sorry to be a blog hog, but mentioning Iceland in my last blog reminded me I forgot to post the photos. These are just what I took on my iphone. Once DH uploads his to his website, I'll post the link. He has a few posted on his instagram if you want to follow him @ WoosterThorpe
