OT - Biopsy was this morning

CBCharlotte's picture

Ouch! It went well, they said I did a good job and hardly moved at all. Unfortunately, the "thing" was still visible so they had to go through with it. Once they shot me up with lidocaine and started taking samples, I got pretty upset and started crying. The thing sounds like a giant drill and it was pretty scary. I just started thinking about everything...I'm only 29, only been married a year....I can't have cancer. I wouldn't even know what to do. The doctors were really nice and calming. DH was there, but he wasn't allowed back and had to sit in the waiting room.

DH finally took my advice and told BM1 - child support mod info

For those of you who remember, my DH has laid off (unemployed) for 15 months and counting. We had a lot of savings which he has been using to pay child support. Technically it is all his money; he had it way before I came into the picture. I am supporting us and all skids and him are on my insurance (and I pay for all medical care and other odds and ends). I make good money so this is stressful but not the end of the world.

OT - Update - biopsy scheduled

CBCharlotte's picture

I went for a 3D mammogram on Tuesday after they found something on my MRI last week. The doctor reviewed and said it doesn't show much on there and that the MRI is more detailed. She said she wants me to schedule an MRI guided biopsy as soon as I can. The first available they had was this coming Wednesday (the 14th) so I got that set up. DH is coming with me, of course. Hopefully it is nothing and all of this stress and worry is for nothing. Thanks again everyone for your kind words. I'll let you know once I have the results; I hope they are quick about it.

Aww sweet DH

See my previous blogs, been stressed, have more testing Tuesday to see if I have breast cancer at 29. DH just had these delivered to my office. The card says :

"You are the love of my life. You're everything to me - and I will always be there for you in sickness and health. All my love, DH"

OT - Update on breast cancer - additional tests scheduled

CBCharlotte's picture

Thanks everyone for your kind words and messages, much appreciated. I've been trying to keep myself busy and not completely freak out. (for history - I just turned 29 and they just found something on my MRI. I'm BRCA positive so 87% chance I will get breast cancer. My mom and both grandmoms are survivors, and my mom was diagnosed at only 38).

OT - Kind of freaking out

CBCharlotte's picture

I just turned 29. I've almost been married a year and I have 4 skids (SD16, SD13, SS6, and SS5) who I have a great relationship with. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer at 38 (very young) and she and BOTH of my grandmothers are survivors. I had the genetic test done at 25 and I am BRCA positive, meaning I have an 87% chance of breast cancer and a 63% chance of Ovarian cancer. Yayyyy...... Because of this, I am checked twice a year; MRI in the summer and Tomo-Mammogram in the winter. This is easy-peasy and I always get the all clear.

Good news on the lawyer front

CBCharlotte's picture

We fired our old lawyer and hired a new one! We paid our old lawyer a retainer of $3,000 and are getting $2,400 back, which isn't too bad.

The new lawyer seems really good. She is ON TOP of everything! What took old lawyer 4 months to do she did in 2 days. She seems very optimistic about us getting child support lowered, as well as a few other of our asks.
