Advice on if I should speak up or not, not step related.
So yesterday I posted about how I am watching my nephew. Well my SIL (my DH's sister) was telling me the sched she would pick him up. She's a teacher and school lets out at 2:20, I know this because my brother graduated from the school she teaches at a couple years ago.
babies OT ,, help!
I need help, so i'm on maternity leave and i'm watching my SIL 5 1/2 Mo old son. He has always seemed very needy, I mean more so than your average needy baby but SIL, BIL, MIL everyone basically that usually takes care of him talks about how easy he is and that we've just seen him when he's tired. Well the kiddo has basically been crying for the past hour non stop and has done so since i started watching him at the beginning of this week and I'm about to shoot myself, and its not a normal cry its like this high pitch screaming, like a banshee...

What to do when Bm wants Dh to parent on her time?
So lately whenever Ss has been getting in trouble at school Bm has been calling and having Dh scold Ss over the phone, Dh didn't mind and neither did I because we just wanted to try to nip his behavior issues at school in the bud. Anyway a few weeks ago Dh took everything from Ss because of his behavior and it seemed to work but then he started acting up again. Ss's school runs off a color chart for behavior, red is the worst color you can get and Ss hadn't gotten this before. Well Tuesday he got red and right away Bm texts Dh that he needs to call his son because he got red.

Dh finally realizes Ss is kind of turning into an ass, maybe he'll do something about it now
So like I've said in most blogs I get along pretty well with my Ss5 but over the years I've come to see that he is kind of a bad kid when he's with his mom, school, mil... basically when he's not with Dh and I, he's an ass. I've kiiiind of mentioned this to Dh recently because he wasn't really understanding why Ss kept getting in trouble at school but I've never flat out said "hey your kids turning into a dick!"...
Question on behalf of DH
So DH knows that I blog/frequent this site and usually he's on the fence about how he feels about the site but sometimes he'll get frustrated with something bm/ss related and will ask me to reach out and ask what you guys think, usually I don't follow thru but thought I would on this...

Question about holidays when you have skids & bios w/ your dh's
So every year Bm has Xmas eve and Dh gets Xmas morning. This is simply because that is what Bm demanded every year and Dh played along so by the time I came on the scene this was an established thing. I never really thought much of it and just went with the flow because I was never really an xmas person but now that I'm about to have my DD now I'm curious how this this will pan out. Every year Bm tries to keep Ss into late morning so she can basically have him xmas eve and also get a xmas morning too, so I'm wondering how this will play out when Dd gets older.
Waaaay OT, Q about labor
I know this is way OT and not step related at all but this is the only forum I use and I know there are a lot of Biomommas on here so I thought i'd ask... I was curious if anyone has ever used a doula? Dh and I did a tour of the hospital this weekened and the nurse who also happened to be a doula herself kept pushing how everyone should get a doula. We really don't have the $$$ for that (they seem to range frm 700-1000) but she made it seem like I was going to die in labor if I don't get one. lol. anyway, just wondering if anyone has used one and if it's REALLY that necessary.

Question about sick kids, slightly OT
I have a question for those of you that have bio's and/or skids full time. A few posts ago (10/4/13) I vented about being worried about Ss bm sending Ss5 over to our house sick. Welllll, it's been almost 2 months and Ss is still sick. Not deathly ill or anything but still has a lingering cough/sniffles. When Ss comes over we'll give him cough medicine and I'll rub him down with vicks and he seems to be getting better by the time sunday comes but then when we get him on friday the following week (we have him every fri-sun) it's like the cough/sniffles are worse again.

What are some crazy things Bm has told skids?
So this weekend we were driving and Dh mentions something about drugs, I dont even remember what he said but suddenly Ss pipes in and says "My mommy used to do drugs!" So I turn and look at Ss and say "what?" and he goes "yes, my mommy told me she used to do lots of drugs but she doesn't do them anymore." I kind of just smiled and was like "oh, okay."
