DH Mood = known issue

Cover1W's picture

Well, he did it yet again.

He was in a low mood yesderday when I got home. Refused to make dinner so YSD and I threw something together.

Then he got annoyed at dinner with me for talking too much about something (he NEVER does this when YSD isn't there). So I got up and left the table. I wasn't putting up with that.

YSDs Vegetarian Issues

DH had a week with YSD16 and two full days alone together with her. Not once did he sit her down and discuss healthy veg choices, look at the websites I found for him or even take her to the store. Nothing. Why am I not surprised?

He then started complaining to me about how little she ate and her poor decision making in general, with oddness about doing anything at all, no seeing her friends, and her never wanting to go out to a restaurant.

YSD returning finally

So YSD16 has been with BM most of the summer, from just after school was out (one long weekend here with DH at the end of June) until today.  No idea how long she's staying or what the plan is - of course!

I have to say it's been a NICE relaxing summer. No worries about what she's going to eat/not eat, planning around her schedule, DH worrying about going to do things without her, etc.

OT: Baby Boy Kitty

And here we go again.

Baby girl kitty departed in November last year and now her brother's kidney problems are getting worse. I knew this back in March and vet said 3-6 months. It's been 5; decided to get another blood test done from the mobile vet (thanks for her existence) and talk with her about options, esp. since we're leaving on a week long vacation soon....same situation as when Baby girl crashed. Sad

OT - Sister Visit and Parenting older teen

Cover1W's picture

Oh my lord. I know my sister was a very permissive parent overall, countered by her jerk of an abusive ex (a little but that whole thing is a mess in itself) until the divorce over a year ago.

My sister (Sis), my niece (N18, almost 19), and Boyfriend (B20) all came to visit us over the weekend of the 4th, stayed with us and we all pretty much were together the whole time, unlike when we visit them, and people come/go.

* N18 has gained a significant amount of weight - she used to be sporty and active. It was quite shocking to see.

MY car? ......LOLOLOLOL....

So DH announced at dinner last night that YSD16.5 passed her driver's test.

Me:  Great!  So you can drive now!

YSD: Well...(shrug)....not really.

Turns out it was the driving school's driver test, not any of the real test, written or driven

Me:  Oh, well, then you didn't pass the driving test you passed the class. That's good. When do you apply for your license. SHRUG and mutter.

Me: What?  I couldn't understand a word you...

DH:  She SAID blah blah blah...

BM is the root of course

BM finally flew her true colors today.

As we know she recently told DH that OSD was accepted to a college but with zero details other than the name. Then told him he's welcome to contribute but that she understood if he didn't because OSD won't speak with him.

Taking this for a kind word, DH responded and asked what her financial package was, when she started and regarding graduation, could he have some details, and that he was planning a grad gift if she had any suggestions.

OSD off to College

We knew that OSD18 had accepted a college offer weeks ago but not a peep from BM or OSD about it of course, and previous to that no clue where she even applied. YSD16 told me the other day where she's going, to a very very $$ private school in the mid-west and leaves mid-August.  This school, with all student costs, is around $80K per YEAR.
