Radical Stepmom Podcast latest episode, Season 6, episode 9, A Story of Alienation...

Just wow. So many parallels, minus the 'ours baby', different people, different locations but so amazing how Parental Alienation takes hold from the alienated home perspective.

We are not crazy.

DH and travel

Cover1W's picture

So DH loves to travel, as do I. I however have had more difficulty doing so in my life due to $$ and jobs where I could actually take a good chunk of time off were few. However, now I could but my elderly cat with kidney disease is going against two vet prognosis and is still happy and healthy (you wouldn't know he was sick if you saw him) 4 months after his predicted decline and end of life. He is on several weekly meds that are easy, but also gets fluids 2x per week and does NOT do well left alone for more than a night. He's a happy senior cat who loves his people.

YSD and fun facts

Cover1W's picture

She got her driver's license! Shocking! But didn't come over that entire weekend because of the driving test. She's not exited at all about it, or at least around us. I told her now she can go to the beach or to the store whenever she wants to. "Yeah, I guess."

She also broke our toaster, said nothing (as she does) and we discovered it two days later. DH went and got a new one.

Off-Topic - My Sister, the BM

Cover1W's picture

So my sister was divorced, a GREAT thing since she was with an abuser, 2 years ago (divorce was final a year ago, but they split a year earlier). She got her own place and my niece finished up high school then, she's now 19.5.  And she's now got issues that we are all familiar with and I'm advising her as best I can, with as much honesty as I can from an outside perspective!

and DH has covid

Cover1W's picture

He tested positive today. Likely exposed due to his going out with a bunch of people last week several times.

So now he's isolating, and work for Xmas is back on me. YSD doesn't know yet and she's going to freak out.

He's calling telehealth line now. After trying to rationalize his positive result.

dinner table convo

Ok, so DH did it AGAIN!  DH said something about being "loco" and YSD, almost 17, two years of spanish taken now, asked, "What does that mean?"  I said, two years into spanish and you don't know - and kind of laughed. I then asked, say something in spanish....she said "Whaaaa...?" and squirmed. Like she does with most direct questions. "Say something in Spanish, anything!" I wasn't being mean or anything, just trying to get her involved LIKE DH WANTS ME TO DO.

OSD19 - college life

Cover1W's picture

So I was informed of some information regarding OSD19, in the form of a college radio station interview (i.e. two female college students who "interview" what seems like their circle of friends...not exactly "high intelligence conversation...." at a midnight time slot LOL).

YSD dynamic this weekend

Cover1W's picture

So YSD16 is here the first time in well over a month. DH was exited. Great! He gets a bunch of stuff from the store (things he only makes when she's here because I don't cook then, and a whole bunch of comfort food and treats for himself. Of course I'm not factored in again. He did get more milk.). And cooks dinner instead of picking up something, admittedly hard to do now that she's pretty much vegan. I won't wait that long again, it's my earliest day and I was very hungry and tired by dinner.

DH missing YSD16

Cover1W's picture

Well, it's been well over a month since YSD16 has deigned to show up.

She did have an event going on for some of that which is OK, but not for 5 or 6 entire weekends in a row. She's barely responding to DH's texts. DH is very upset and it's bringing back memories of OSD's PAS for him. Although YSD doesn't have the bad attitude, she's more of a ghoster.

We have talked about it and acknowledged that we expected something like this to happen since she chose to go to the high school nearest BM, and once OSD left for college. But for DH it still hurts.
