"Crotchity" or pragmatic? You decide.
So, this past weekend my wife and my mother got on me when I expressed my less than flatering opinion of our government and their current performance.
They told me I was "crotchity" and "grumpy". :?
I told them I was not crotchity or grumpy and that I was pragmatic and focused on accountability for performance.
So ....... Crothity and Grumpy or Pragmatic.
Any thoughts?

My nephew was recounting some conversations he had with my son (SS).
This past week end I took my oldest nephew (13) to a movie. On our way to the theater he told me that my son (SS) had told him that his "Dad" played a ton of video games and it was embarrasing that at 40yo his "Dad" can't support my SS's three younger out-of-wedlock half sibs.
A third party confirmation of my son's reality based opinion of his SpermIdiot.
Day 3 of year 17.
My bride and I celebrated our 16th anniversary on July 30. It was a good day. We spent the day with my mom, dad brother and his family all at mom and dad's. Mom was in GrandMa heaven with both of her boys, DILs and three of her four grandkids. Our son is on his last court ordered visitation and was not with us though we did talk to him.
We all went to dinner at the Oasis, had TexMex, good rita's and watched an amazing sunset.

Surfed over to IVillage to close some of my ignorance gaps.
Because of the occasional references to iVillage here in S-Talker land I surfed over there this afternoon while waiting for revised engineering drawings to review.
That is a far more comprehensive site than the more focused community at StepTalk.
Because of the size of iVillage it took me a while to find anything of note on Step Parenting. But, if I were to spend more time there I am sure I would learn my way around.
There is a thread there that is more than 310 posts long on nothing but StepTalk.
Blended family and inheritance.
What does evey think.
Who gets what? Do Skids get equal shares to Bios? How is it distributed between yours/mine/ours?
Some very close family friends had a challenge with this. The wife died after ~35 years of marriage. Several years later her surviving spouse married the mother of their oldest child's wife who was also widow'd.
Our family friends had two children, who were ~28 (married to his future step sister) and 23 (unmarried at the time) when their mom died. The new wife (and oldest child's MIL) had 6.

If one spouse is on their first marriage and the other on their second ...
So, which statistic applies if one spouse is on their first marriage and the other is on their second (third, fourth, etc....) as far as longivity of the marriage and risk of divorce?
And, if the BioParent you are married to was not married to the other bio parents of your Skid what the hell does that mean statistically speaking as far as longivity of the current marriage.
I am on my second marriage. XW and I did not spawn. My wife was an out-of-wedlock teen mom and had our kid (my Skid) at 16.
How screwed are we?????? :?

The Mid Visitation manipulations are in full swing.
My wife and I just got to Houston after a week vacation/road trip and are continuing our house hunting.
The SpermClan is in full swing of manipulating SS-17 in to staying in SpermLand rather than joining his mom and I our new home. They do not want to have to continue to pay CS while SS is in college and think that getting him to stay in SpermLand will get them off of the hook for CS.

In my duties as Grand Exalted Master of the Universe (GEMOTU) as my son (SS-17) has so granted me all of the rights, responsibilities, priveledges and power there of I shall now cast judgement on all inferior underlings.
I am right and if you do not agree with me you are WRONG!

My wife's flight is delayed and instead of getting in a 8:55 she won't be in until 10:40
I hate the Philly airport. Those union morons could not get a flight out on time if you strapped pidgeons to their asses, tossed bird seed in the air and made them carry the plane.
I can't even count the number of times I have waited for hours to leave Philly, or waited on the tarmac for hours after landing for a ground crew to get to the gate, or for hours to get my bag once we landed because one union or another was taking a long break in an attempt to get a raise or protest some perceived management transgression.
