Good problem to have

Sweet T's picture

So this morning I was telling BS the main gift I got for my husband for Christmas. It is a Reggie Jackson Jersey. Reggie is his favorite player of all time. My son starts begging me please can that be from him....because sports is their thing and he is positive it will be more special if it comes from him and not me. They watch and play baseball and football together all the time and now we have added hockey to our mix.

I am very thankful that they have such a good relationship and friendship.....

Braces

Sweet T's picture

Braces always seem to be a hot topic and it has made me curious. I want to say that first off when I was married to the loon I was the one who paid our portion of the oldest step son. His teeth were pretty jacked up and it was the type of process that required expanders and all that great stuff. To be honest the ortho BM used only charged about 3K for the process and Loon;s insurance paid 1500 so we just had to split the other 1500 with BM. Not bad really IMO and the boy has a beautiful smile.

Decree mis interpretations

Sweet T's picture

So my ex is so famous for re Interpreting what our divorce decree says. My personal favorite was when he was threatening me with criminal and civil prosecution this summer and sent me verbiage not even in our decree.

So BS mentioned something regarding Thanksgiving that made me question whether my ex had read our decree . I sent him this:

Hasn't cashed the check... very suspicious

Sweet T's picture

So because I was an idiot and didn't go through the state ( that will change when we get through the review) twice a year he gets an extra paycheck and I refund him. Time before last he never said anything and I just emailed out the check. This time because things are really bad between us ( even prior to the review) he told BS9 to remind me this is a 3 paycheck month. I told BS ok, I knew that. I do not mail out the check until it hits my account because I do not trust him. He asks BS again and he told him he had told me, and he asked what I said... he told him I had said I know....

Hypocondriate kids

Sweet T's picture

I love my 9 year old son with every fiber of my being but he is the biggest hypochondriac and it drives me crazy. He rolled his ankle yesterday at morning daycare, the same ankle he sprained last year. They iced it no big deal really. He cried when it happened ( I am sure it did hurt but....) and was fishing for me to come get him. It is slightly swollen and he is dying today. I gave him ibuprofen and wrapped it and am sending him off to school.

Leaving kids alone, giving them some freedom.... wanting opinions.

Sweet T's picture

So Down south's blog and a personal situation has me wanting the ladies opinions and feed back.

So let's assume the children we are going to discuss are normal mature children for the sake of discussion ( not screw balls like potato or some of the special snowflakes ) at what age would you let them...

Stay at home when you ran to the grocery store

Get off the bus and be home alone for 10 minutes or so.

Get off the bus and walk down the street to the house where the step parent is waiting.

Stay home sick alone.
