"There is a palpable tension in both of you when you are together."

Rags's picture

My wife said this to me last night while we were getting ready to turn out the lights.

I think it is because I have ZERO tolerance for bullshit and stupid crap and the kid is tense because he knows that I will not tolerate his stupid crap. I am hyper sensitive to his cranio-rectitis and he is on egg shells because I jump his ass when he does something stupid.

So, the kid was home for slightly more than 24hrs and we are already back to our usual state of tension in the home.

Mom and Dad brought the kid home last night.

My parents have been getting the kid prepared for his DL test and dad has been putting him through the former Marine fitness program getting him prepped for Basic Training.

The kid scored a 97 on his driving test on Tuesday. The only points he missed was at the very beginning when the DPS tester asked him to cycle through the turn signals and brake lights. After that the tester told him to proceed forward. The kid put the car in drive, hit the gas and nothing happened. He forgot to turn the engine on. Not a huge deal but a classic kid move.

The Skid just put the last nail in his plank. Now he has to walk it.

The Skid passed the drivers test this AM and now has no barriers to going in to the AF. He will be coming home from my parents tomorrow to a packed room and the unequivical message that he goes to basic training NOW if not sooner.

He walked right in to our well planned trap and now we will no longer tolerate 13yo couch potato crap from him.

A pilot and and airlines that are customer focused. And a StepMom that is not so bad either.

Most StepMoms would do this for their SO's their Skids and their GrandSkids.

IMHO of course.

The most important trips aren't about getting somewhere. They're about getting to someone. (via Elliott.org)

CS is obviously a hot button topic.

How do we quantify love for a child and how do we quantify support or how support is spent? It is not possible.

In MOST cases (but not all) CS is just part of the CP household income, it blends in with the rest of the income and is used to pay the bills and there are no issues with how it is spent because the CP is caring, responsible and is not out to screw the NCP. At least that is how it appears to me.

God I love this woman: Wife's letter to the Skid

Rags's picture

My wife overnighted the SS card to SS-18 at my mom and dads. She hand wrote the following letter and scanned it to me at work this AM.

Wife called SS yesterday and read him the riot act about his continued lack of effort and his total disrespect for the people who are trying to help him enter adulthood. She told him that she was sick of him calling only when he needed something and that this is exactly how BioDad treats his own mother. He calls SpermGrandMa only when he needs something.

The Skid was PIIIIIISSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEDDDDDD after that conversation.

My kid is so screwed.

My SS has been at my parents working on his driver’s license since Christmas. Dad has given him the full meal deal driver’s course and SS has been with a driving instructor. The instructor told SS yesterday that he would test on Thursday and told him that he would need his Social Security card to take the drivers test and get his license. So my dad asked him today if he was ready to test and if there was anything he would need. SS told dad that he needed his SS card and that he thought he had it but didn't.

A couple who does not grow together will most assuredly grow apart - Now a blog entry as requested.

Growth has to be together or it will be apart. This is a spin on my favorite Ben Franklin quote. "We all must hang together, or most assuredly we will hang separately". This was in reference to declaring independence from Great Britain.

O/T - Those damned recycle bin thieving neighbors!

Rags's picture

Our recycle bin was stolen a few weeks ago. This has been stuck in my craw for weeks and I have stayed pissed off about it every trash/recycle day since some idiot stole my bin.

I took the trash out last night at about 01:00 AM and noticed that my across the street neighbors had two WM recycle bins and concluded that they had stolen my recycle bin. WM only provides one recycle bin in our neighborhood. MY DAMNED NEIGHBORS STOLE MY BIN!!!! Grrrrr!

So, I walked across the cul-de-sac and dumped one of the recycling bins in the other and took MY recycling bin back.
