O/T oh hell, I gotta buy a bathing suit

Yay!!! Been putting this off and can't wait any longer. Getting a two piece. I have butt and thighs that would make J-Lo's look tiny and flat. So I'm trying to find something that's not too grandma-ish, but that provides lots of coverage on the bottom. And then I really want an underwire bra top, I'm not huge, but I'm not small either, and I'm over 40, know what I mean?

Anyway, I may be blogging a bit on here as I find reasons to avoid making a decision on a bathing suit.

Need a plan to assert myself again

Happy Fourth of July!

SS16 comes home tomorrow from his month long visit with BM. Since he's not in school, SO is less restrictive about his video game time. XBox is in the living room on the big screen.

One of the stepmoms on this site has a rule that the kids turn off the video games as soon as she comes home from work. I want to implement that same rule. SO gets really defensive every time I try to have a say regarding something his son does, even if it's something that affects me.

SS is gone for a month, what do SO and I do now?

SS16 is out of town with his mom this month for summer visitation for 5 weeks. We have him the rest of the year. It's been kind of weird around the house. There are no other kids, just me, SO and the dogs. I feel like SO doesn't know what to do with himself, he spent an hour last weekend polishing a 3 inch area of chrome on his motorcycle. I've never seen him do so much busy work around the house.

And SO keeps telling his dog, awww, you miss the boy don't you. So I know this is really SO missing his boy, understandable.

Getting old living with a teenage shut-in.

SS treating me like a ghost again, even though I helped him bake brownies for his class. I still wish SS would leave the house with someone other than his dad. And I wish he would get a life. But he never will.

SO came home late today because he bought himself a new motorcycle. I knew what he was doing. He didn't tell SS though. And SS kept walking into the kitchen not acknowledging me and then walking back to his room when he realized I wasn't his dad.

When SO did come home, SS was right there immediately.

O/T Oklahoma Tornadoes- reminder just how small my problems are

We were not affected by either Sunday's or today's tornadoes, thankfully. Sunday it got so bad we almost went down to our storm shelter. To be stuck in that thing with SO, SS, and three dogs, yeah I waited until we thought for certain we were in danger. Never had to go down.

Wish SO would stop stirring the pot of SS' resentment

Going on our date tonight, and in front of SS, SO asked me if I want to see a movie. That prompted an immediate huge scowl of resentment from SS16. SO then does the usual defense talk about what? we have a right to go on a date!

SO and I have so much time alone with each other, and he waits until SS is in the room to talk about this.

BM 1500 miles away. I'm here. Guess who gets blamed.

I normally don't post about BM because she's rarely in the picture. SO as primary custody of SS.

But summer visitation is around the corner and of course, BM doesn't want to take SS for the full 6 weeks, because she has travel plans with her new family, including SS' half brother.

SO is very upset about BM taking her new son traveling but not SS16. and also BM is not communicating visitation plans with SO, she's just talking directly to SS16.
