Dear Valued Users,

It's with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of StepTalk.org on August 31st, 2025.

This decision wasn't an easy one. For over twenty years, StepTalk has been a source of support for stepparents around the world! However, over the years, the costs associated with maintaining and upgrading the site to remain secure, meet current standards and maintain availability have become unsustainable.

We are incredibly grateful for your support, contributions and the community you've helped us build. Your engagement has made StepTalk.org a special place and we cherish the memories and connections made here.

We would especially like to thank Aniki for volunteering to be a moderator and for caring so much.

Getting out of the house in winter

Okay, this winter has been nearly unbearable..... But thankfully (and gratefully) DH hates it as much as I do. We have increased our outings (dinners, drinks, whatever) in the past couple weeks and WOW! - Has it made a difference. We have definitely sacrificed financially for these splurges, but ya know what? It's only money, and you can't put a price on sanity........ feeling SO MUCH better!!!

Trying to be positive

Well, as much help as this site usually is, you have to admit it can be depressing. The overall attitude for most of us is that this particular calling in life kinda stinks! As far as skids are concerned, we are just unappreciated, disrespected, taken-for-granted, outsiders whose only fault is that we fell in love with their (divorced, socially available) parent. Sorry!!
