Mother's Day - dont you want to spend that with YOUR kids?

This was our wkd with skids. SS5 came home from school with a flower and comes running into the kitchen with it and goes "Happy Mother's Day", its for you and Mommy. I said oh ok. So I knew Sunday morning the plant was leaving with SS, which was fine. SS8 must have felt left out and went and got the card, he clearly made for his mom and gave to me. He said I wrote "mom" on the front by mistake. I didnt want to say anything so I hugged him and thanked him. But again figured the card would go come Sunday morning.

BM losing her job = what for our wallets??

BM called DH today to say that she FINALLY made pymt arrangements for her citation so he can renew his tags. And also told him that SS5 is going to go to a summer program instead of daycare which is cheaper and then he starts school in Sept. Per their agreement, CS will drop $200/mo and he was letting her know that. She then tells him that at the end of the month, she will lose her job b/c they are outsourcing it. She said she is trying to find a laterall position with the same company. So again DH said that the CS will be dropping and she kept telling him that she is losing her job.

May 1 is Step Mother's Day - Just learned this today

I work for an advertising company and we celebrate and promote EVERY holiday. Like today is officially Mc Donald's Day!

Anyway, my co-worker hands me May's calendar and goes I added a holiday on there just for you "May 1 - Step-Mother's Day". I've never heard of this. She also send a msg to DH and told him about and said that I deserved a present...lol!

So I was complaing about my SS8 wanting an Iphone/ITouch but in that SAME convo, he also made a comment about eating out b/c we "have the money to do so." DH and I do okay but we are not well off. We live a comfortable life on a budget. We have money to do things but not a lot.

I-Touch/I-phone + 8 yr old = NO f'in way!

So my SS8 has been asking DH and I for an Iphone since DH first got his (yr ago), then I got one 6 mos later. DH lets them play on his and they know not to touch mine. So for Xmas, both boys asked for one. One I dont think kids need cell phones until they start driving. Esp this young, who are they going to call?

BM & I dont get along, we've never even spoke, mainly due to her. She didnt want her marriage to end. DH was miserable and left her, went back tried to make it work and then left for good. Met me shortly after and BM thought we had an affair. Meanwhile, I didnt even know DH till he left her. So she blames their failed marriage on me. I've tried rentlentlessly to tell her I didnt know him then but whatever, its not worth it to me anymore.

Skidless for Easter and for 2 wks and now they are coming back...

Skids went to their Grandmom's for Spring break and its been great! Two whole wkds without them. They called last night to say they are back home with BM and I felt a twist in my stomach. I just didnt miss them and I'm not ready to deal with them. I know that sounds horrible, but its the truth. DH has been pleasant and when they are around, he's so damn cranky. Just not looking forward to the Thur- Mon visit coming up. DH doesnt even seem that excited. How can live be so perfect without them but yet I doubt my DH would the person he is without having them....

This wkd SS8 spent the night at a friends house so we todl SS5 that it was b/c we wanted to spend special time with him. We took him to the harbor for ice cream and to a special dinner. So on the drive home, SS5 is talking about a variety of things as normal. When we got home, I was doing laundry and I hear SS5 tell DH out of the blue b/c they were talking about Wonder Pets that he wants BM's b/f, CJ, to move out so that they can have the place to themselves. So DH said you dont like CJ? SS5 goes no I do, but him and Mommy yell at each other all the time and their faces get red.
