So the college results start to come out
SS17 applied to 5 schools with full confidence with an unweighted gpa of 3.1 (that includes core support classes that don't count by the schools he applied to). I've told him the schools he applied to are very competitive ( he was to apply to only one school lol) and he should expand his options.
Boy doesn't believe because who am I to know this school system lol. (um, but we are talking about the top UCs, I thought anyone would know they are top UCs..).
Hypothetical Fight (sorry for blog hog)
So I couldn't help it, last night I was looking on Facebook to see what other of SO's family was close with BM. SO's teenage niece isn't but i saw that she is friends with SO's ex gf, who he cheated on BM2 with and left her for. He told me at the beginning "That part of my life is behind me and I'm a different person now." Anyway, this teenage niece would have been about 3 years old when SO dated this woman, and has only been on Facebook a few years.
Whose BM Is this?
This ends extremely well!

On the topic of aging, aging relatives, and younger Gens expecting to inherit.
This is way toooooo long btw. I'll start with my appologies.
DW was late getting home last night. Not unusual. It is tax season and she works batshit crazy hours from Mid Jan through Mid Apr.
Anyway, she texts last night about an hour later than she usually calls on her way home from the office. She was sitting in the garage on the phone with her aunt. I did not hear the garage door open since we are in a cold snap and the heat is cycling on and off periodically.
BM2 Just Won’t Quit
I've blogged before about SO and BM2's enmeshment when we first started dating 7 years ago. BM2 coming and going from his house, cooking meals in it, and the constant communication, mostly about what she wanted the schedule to be that day.

If anyone is curious..
BM said to SD.. "I don't know what dad and missk said to SS20 to make him stop talking to me." LOLLL. She is literally insane. I said to SD she really just does NOT get it.. SD agrees.
SD said that she still keeps going on about me. That... she "appreciated" what I've done (aka literally raise her kids for the past almost 10 years) that I damaged her relationship with SD.
I said to SD (almost 18) that I don't know why she can't recognize her own behavior and STOP trying to degrade my character and who I am as a person.

SS12 Spring Break - Further Annoying Things
DH picks SS12 up next Saturday for our cruise. We are busy prepping, packing, and finalizing hotel, rental car, etc. While I am excited for the trip, I am also nervous with everything going on with SS and BM's drama lately. BM has been radio silent since DH refused to pay for SS' therapy, which we discovered we will be responsible to pay if she runs it through out-of-network insurance deductible after further consulting with our attorney and the FOC (but DH didn't tell her that). She threw her hissy fit and is now "punishing" DH by being silent and not providing any updates about anything.
Sort of O/T - What are your ingrained triggers?
I have some.
1. Infidelity. Probably amplified by the serial adulterous XW. This is an absolute deal breaker for me and also an absolute non starter. Like a red flag waiving in front of a bull kinda thing.
Ignorance is bliss
And denial is right after.... this past Sunday we dropped by MIL house for a quick visit. I didn't really want to go but DH said that MiL had clothes for the kiddos and he had to pick up some mail that went there by mistake so I was like ok. His aunt was there and I enjoy her company so I figured it could not be too bad. So we get there and it's pretty chill.

Skid PTSD
So during our annual road trip, we stay at this hotel with an arcade room. Out of curiosity I walk in and there it is! A "claw" game. The type where a kid tries to pick up a prize with the mechanical "claw." This was a favorite of SD26's aka the Animal Torturer. There was simply never a case where we didn't have to stop in our tracks so that the Animal Torturer would put endless quarters in UNTIL she picked up a prize of her liking. I O Ws hours of time spent as she fumbled her way through the game (she was not good at it whatsoever).
