Have you guys read this excellent blog on stepmoms?

Don't know if this has been posted before, but I found an excellent article here:

http://www.siskiyous.edu/class/engl12/stepmom.htm

I have printed it off, will be highlighting and leaving around the house by accident lol-I think i'll have more luck w/that then leaving a big book around.
The article hits the nail on the head about step-parenting, particularly stepmoms.

So, I told him last night that SD is not welcome in my home anymore~

It went relatively well-after venting here, and writing 4 pages of vomit about his nasty kid..I was compelled to give that letter to him and decided against it ha!

I did say to him....look this past wknd was hell for me...and get this, serious as a heart attack...he says really? I thought it went pretty ok?
I looked at him with disgust and said...that's because you ignore the disrespect and dont' discipline at all, and are in denial! I said, of all wknds this was one of the WORST and you didn't even sense that?

I'll go back to solo wknds for a while

Just like we've done before, because of this past wknd I'm going with the 'seperate wknds' again for a bit. It's worked for us before, I just thought we were out of the woods since the last month or so had gone ok, I was feeling hopefully even!

I was talking last night with him-and believe me I held back everything I wanted to say...I said, you know I didn't even take my kids to amusement park like I wanted to with all this that went on.

Wknd from hell, ready to strangle bf, punch sd in the face and run over BM....

UGHHHH, I just wanted to scream all wknd, everything got on my last damn nerve, i'm so sickened by it all I realize I may never want to marry this guy to deal w/this shit......

Anyways-I can elaborate more later, just wanted to get that out. The last few wknds had been going ok...this wknd between her behavior, and dads and bm running the shots I want to throw them all into a ditch and forget they exist.

The exh nerve...and my vent of the week

LOL-AS I predicted....the exh wants to take a trip out of the country to go 'meet' his new fiance/girlfriend. THey apparently knew eachother in HS-and have started a long distance relationship (in different countries no less). So w/in 4 weeks of them talking he's sporting a silver engagement ring (traditional for that country, both men and women wear silver bands).

O/T - Engagment rings-anybody have one with a sapphire, other birthstone, etc...

Just curious how many on here have a non-traditional ring? By that I mean not all diamonds?

Maybe I'm just weird but for some reason I dont' want an old diamond ring. BF and I were talkign about it a couple weeks ago and he was tryign to ask what I even like...I've always liked sapphires, love them, and they are my birthstone also...I think they look amazing on a ring and woudl prefer that a million times over.

Darn guilty dad admission-and things being shaken up.

So, in a conversation late last night some things came out
He started by saying he feels like he's playing neutral mediator all the time at my house, and that i seemed stressed all the time -I finally in frustration pointed out that he feels so bad for her (SD), that he doesn't realize all the GOOD things she has!

From the outside lookin in, the kid isn't depressed, seems generally happy and healthy, gets good grades, is in sports...YES she has issues...so do my kids for lack of having a loving father in their lives-who doesn't??
