Prom dress revisited...

Last-Wife's picture

... Princess loved the borrowed dress. She has decided she will think of a plan to be able to not hurt her mother's feelings. She said I was right to worry about all of the other expenses, and it WOULD be foolish to spend such a huge amount of money on the dress...

She's gonna try to talk her mom into getting her a nice piece of "forever" jewelry to go with the free dress... Something she will always have and be able to say "My mom gave me this."

Ah, it's great to know Princess has been paying attention all those years! Maybe my practicality did rub off on her!

Hear that sucking sound? It's Loca Grande...

... trying to suck me back in. Three text messages from her today, after Loghead told her not to contact me. Two I can ignore, but the third is bugging the crap out of me.

She left me a message back in December, after Loghead had told her not to call, telling me she needed us to make decisions about Christmas 2010 because she wants to take the kids on a vacation holiday. I listened to it, was pissed by it, but ignored it.

Seeking advice on disengagement....

Is it okay to tell my DH that if my questions and concerns about skids cause arguments, and if my ideas aren't supported, he shouldn't ask me to support them financially or with transportation needs?

Loghead and I had a family meeting tonight. Our family therapist wanted him to commit to meet with me once a week to discuss my concerns, questions and issues. She thought this would lessen my anxiety, and wouldn't make me "pounce" on him with info the minute he walks in the door at night. In the 2 weeks we've been doing this, it has helped a little.

How is it I can bust my a$$ and they still make me feel like crap!?

Princess and I went on a college visit on Monday. Here I am worrying all day about where to find money to send her to college and all the extra expenses involved- setting up the dorm room, sheets, towels, etc...

We were having a nice time. She and her boyfriend broke up 3 weeks ago, and she's been fun. She had a few moments Monday, but it was more teenage stuff than crappy skid stuff...

So not fair...

How did Loghead get 2 days home alone?! Gosh, I would kill for that!

I was on a college visit trip with Princess. Gibby was with us because he stayed with my parents while we were on campus. Lazy Boye was Loca Grande for the 3 day weekend. PITA was at a friend's house.

My darling Loghead had the house to himself for Valentine's Day and President's Day. SO NOT FAIR! Why can't I ever get the house to myself? I could think of a million things I'd want to do. What did he do? Dirty every dish and towel in the house and let the dogs sleep on the furniture...

Different kind of Valentine's Day...

DH had to work. Princess and I spent the day on a road trip... We ate out at one of favorite places, and shopped for prom dresses. No luck finding anything, but we had fun anyway. We're staying at my parents' tonight and going on a college visit tomorrow.

She is so much nicer without the boyfriend in the picture...

And PITA 15 called this afternoon to wish me a happy Valentine's Day. I asked if dad put him up to it, and he said no...

Don't ask how DH handled Valentine's Day... He's a dork. I'm pretending the holiday doesn't exist...

She's gone too far... (BM advice needed...)

Loca Grande has invited Princess's boyfriend to lunch on Saturday while the skids are there this weekend. Not normally a problem if he visits a short time, BUT THEY BROKE UP TWO WEEKS AGO! (Yelling for emphasis- not sure why everyone seems to be justifying caps today, but I thought I'd chime in...)

When we questioned Princess about this, she says its because Loca Grande misses him- let's call him Stepping Stone. Loca Grande wants them to get back together.

Sure, honey, act like it was your idea...

LazyBoye14 has a book report due tomorrow. It was assigned in early January. He's had 2 snow days this week. We are teachers and our house is FULL of books. Seriously, a fire ever starts, this place is up in flames so fast, there is no saving it! LOL

LazyBoye, of course, did not read. He's now trying to get Loghead to talk about his favorite book. Loghead tells him he'd love to talk to him about the book when he gets back from taking PITA15 to basketabll.
