So SS15 is underweight...has been for years. He is 5'6" and weighs 87 pounds, he's only gained a few pounds in the past few years, but has grown inches. The doctor has never seemed overly concerned about it, just said "well he just hasn't hit puberty yet". This last Dr. visit she recommended he go to a GI specialist, which DH did, and we spent a fair amount of money on some tests that all came back normal. The GI wants to do another round of tests now, that will cost about $1000 out of pocket.

OT - Cake Decorating

I've been wanting to dabble a little bit in cake decorating. I have some artsy in me and I enjoy cooking/baking. I have 3skids that live with us, DD1.5 and another DD on the way. So a big family with lots of birthdays to practice this new skill! lol

Anyways, I volunteered to make the cake for a baby shower at work, I've only ever made box cakes. However, the "professional" cakes seem to be denser (and I assume easier to decorate), does anyone have a cake recipe that they use for a sturdy cake to decorate?

Any wisdom on cake decorating in general is appreciated!

GBM is an idiot

Apparently the skids should NEVER be allowed to be alone with GBM.

BM let them spend last weekend with GBM to visit and they just came back to our house yesterday.

SD12 has a plantars wart and the doctor (as well as google) advised to use a salycylic acid medicine and also keep duct tape on it.

GBM convinced SD12 that she shouldn't be using either thing, but rather leave it alone! We had to ARGUE with SD12 who now says she "doesn't trust" the doctor she's had her entire life because GBM USED to be a nurse and she said the doctor was wrong!!!!

I love cooking, but some nights I need something quick and easy!

I recently got a crock pot and am very excited to get to use it but have not actually tried it yet. To be honest it kind of freaks me out to have something cooking at my house all day long while nobody is home.

So do y'all have some good crock pot recipes to share?!
