Do single-parents miss a lot?

My DW had two small kids when we first met and they're now both 4 and 6. Through time, as in every relationship small things have changed, but one thing has remained pretty consistent - she complains.. a lot. I'm not talking about the regular things like someone getting on nerves at work (everyone can understand that stuff), but more so things like this..

I apologize in advance for this vent/rant.

I'm 24 years old and I'm married to my DW with two skids (4 and 5). I feel often like some of the nice things about life that I completely took for granted when I was single or with someone that didn't have children have completely gone away and won't come back for a long time.

At the moment, a lot of the people in our company are having their first ever child with their significant others for the first time. They seem to have such excitement and happiness in their eyes when they talk about it, proudly showing off their baby scans and planning for their impending arrivals of their firstborns.
