Creepy SS is creepy.
Okay STalk,
I’m about to take you to a place where the topic of sex and horror combine. So if any of you feel a little bit uneasy after reading this all I can say is “you’ve been warned”.
So last night DW and myself were “in the mood” so to speak. With three kids and an attention-starved dog sleeping in adjacent rooms, stealth sex is not just an acquired skill but a necessity that DW and I have managed to master.

Happy Mother's Day (of sorts)
Some of you may remember that last year, on the same day, I picked up SS the morning of Mother's Day and stopped by the store on the way home. I asked SS if he would like to come inside with me to pick out some flowers and a card for his Mom. SS said no, as he was too busy playing on his phone.
This year, I didn’t give SS any cues whatsoever. As far as I am concerned, he is old enough to go to the store to buy flowers, or make a card or whatever he wants to do give to DW on his own.

Congratulations (to achievements BIG and small)
I think the timing is right. Apart from my sincere congratulations to all of you who have made those small (yet pivotal) accomplishments in your lives, I want to extend a congratulations to my SS for making it to the "achievement board" at his tutoring facility. He had a writing assignment that was so good that the tutor posted it on the wall for all to see.
I am actually curious and can't wait to see it!

A Part of Me Died on the Weekend.
SS was with us. DW wanted to take the opportunity to go visit her parents. We hardly get to see them (they live in the neighboring state). So we packed the kids and off we went to spend the weekend with them.
Now I love my in-laws. DW’s brother and sister came to visit too with their children so it was good chance for the kids to play with their cousins.
Dinner-time came around and SS's uncle and sister started asking him questions about school. SS would answer them in one-word responses. So DW felt the need to jump in to wax poetic.

To share or not to share my good fortune.
I'm in a bind.
I just got an email from HR confirming that I will be getting a bonus based on my work performance for the 2013 year.
It's a sizeable amount. I've never received a bonus before.
This is good news for me, but here's my delimma.
I want to share the news of my good fortune with DW, but I know EXACTLY what DW will want to do. She will want us to buy a new laptop. I don't want to buy a new laptop. We have 3 iPads, a semi-functioning laptop and a PC.

Who are you and what have you done with my wife!!?!?
Last night, at bed time, SS asked DW if he could have a snack.
Asking for a snack at bed time is SS's all time favorite bedtime stalling ploy.
DW's reaction would be one of the following:
a) Allow it
b) Allow it with the caveat that SS be quick about it.
c) Yell at SS for trying to stall his bedtime - and then allow it.
d) Disallow it because DW and I were arguing moments before. Meaning; she disallows it only to humour me (and this has only happened twice).
My Easter Weekend in an Egg Shell (O/T)
Not exactly StepTalk related but some people asked me how my Easter went.
Easter Sunday went really well. The events leading up to Easter Sunday, not so much. DW and I got our wires crossed over “who does what” in preparation for Easter. The house needed to be cleaned, decorations needed to be bought, SS needed to be picked up from his Dad’s, laundry needed to be done, etc. As of Saturday night, only half of the things we wanted to do got done…This caused DW to start freaking out.

Slice of blended life....
Keep in mind that SS is 13 and BS is 4.
SS : "WOW! Did you hear that thunder BS?"
BS: "Yeah. Really loud!"
SS: "That thunder means the Angels are bowling in the sky!"
BS: "No silly! Thunder is electric charge from clouds!"
SS: ????

Frozen
“Frozen”. Great movie. It deserved the academy award for best animation IMHO. I watched it with BS and BD on the weekend. Although the movie didn’t hold their attention for long, it’s become one of those “repeat” movies that they ask to watch over and over again.
Spoiler Warning!
So yesterday, the kids wanted to see it and we put it on. Now SS, has never seen the movie before, and I swear, you would think he was watching CNNMoney.

The Math Marks Mystery (Part II)
I don’t care if you pass or fail. I’m just here for my paycheck.
This is what the math teacher said to her class. Or so SS says.
I didn’t believe it. DW believed SS right away. This caused a heated argument between us. We knew this math teacher was different. We knew she was candid, strict and we knew SS would have a hard time. We also knew that SS has been fooling around, putting in the bare minimum of effort and lying to us.
Well I found out last week from my inside source that in this instance, SS was indeed telling the truth.
