This is stupid, but it bothers me anyway...

So a few weeks ago, Dad passed away. Mic requested that SS be allowed to go to the viewing. Ms. Perfect actually had a heart and let him go. I'm certainly not used to her doing anything nice or considerate, so I sent a thank you note. It didn't say much, just that we appreciated her letting SS come with us, and that her thoughtfulness concerning the situation would be returned. I sealed it up, stuck a stamp on it and dropped it in the mail.

Justice has prevailed (well...more or less)

So Mic went to the court ordered mediation to duke out summer visitation time. A reminder: Ms. Perfect suggested that we rotate visitation for the summer to a whole week every other week. Once she got to court and realized that Mic was going to use the time to catch up on arrears, she said she was only "exploring options". That's how they ended up in the mediation to begin with.

Hey, Folks

Sorry I haven't been butting into everyone's business for a while. My dad passed away very suddenly last week, and today is the first time I've even been on to check my e-mail. I've been trying to catch up here on what's going on with everyone, but a week's worth is too much. Happy Mother's Day to all of you, and I hope everyone has a great weekend!

My First Taste of Family Court

I went with Mic to court today, and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. A bit rushed, but that's understandable (Of course it seems to me like if the judge was in that big of a hurry, then maybe he shouldn't have walked in a half hour late, but that's beside the point).

At the end of the day:

It's been a while...

Lots of personal stuff has been going on, and I've only been on long enough to review a few posts here and there. I feel a bit out of the loop, both here and towards life in general.

Bad to Worse

So Mic actually got a hold of SS on 2nd or 3rd try this afternoon. He and Ms. Perfect were on their way to Toys R Us to get a birthday present. Turns out the party is for his friend's little sister, who apparently loves carebears, and what else could it be, but a sleepover. I think this kid has gone about 2 nights without a sleepover since Easter Break started. I mean, I understand that at 8, friends become more important, learning to socialize, yada, yada, yada, but this is ridiculous. Ms. P.

Happy Easter everyone!

So Ms. Perfect stood her ground about not letting ss come to church with us for Easter. That's alright though, at least she didn't screw Mic out of his court ordered visitation. She said that ss couldn't come with us, even though she promised him he could, because they were having family over for dinner.

Good news doesn't last...but this entry does. Very long.

And I guess I knew it wouldn't. I almost posted a few days ago that Ms. Perfect herself had put her royal stamp of approval on Mic and I taking ss to church for Easter. SS is 8 now, and I don't agree with pushing the Easter Bunny (at all), as it takes away from the memorial of our Resurrected Savior. But I was willing to let it go, and was thrilled to find out Monday night that ss would at least get a dose of both.
