Happy B-Day to me aka An Update thats a Downer
Looking at life right now, I feel truly blessed. My health issues have healed, I have a home I love, my parents are with me, my family is healthy and doing well, I now see who my friends are (and arent). Ive learned some valuable lessons. Ive learned about my spouse and his very dark side that I didnt "see" before.
However there are a few things that I would take out of this life. A jealous and badgering spouse, who wakes me up on my birthday at 6 am pacific time "you are on 2 dating sites, I know you are hooking up!!"

Social Media Official
Typically this means that you are "officially a Couple".
In my case, today, my husband posted on Facebook that he is "letting me go" using my name and everything, as a caption to a post of our wedding photo.
After a few weeks of posting tik toks and memes about cheating and lies and letting go.
Its been a rough month.
Ive been feeling sadness, regret, relief, disbelief, fear, anger all in an endless rotation.
Im no longer going to be a stepmonster.
Im no longer going to have to deal with all that step life has to offer.

To Quote Husband "And So It Begins"
This weekend was a roller coaster. Im getting emotional support from a few friends that Ive shared with and my parents.
My friend sent me a series of screen captures from Husband's Facebook post. He states "would you choose your facebook friends over your marriage?" and of course the ensuing comments.
Sunday he threatened to post negative things on facebook so I could spend the whole day (while he was fishing) in fear of what was coming, along with his text "f@ck you b!tch we are done. And now it begins".

Cat & Mouse AKA the moment you all predicted...
WELL, its here, the moment of Truth and Divorce.
Husband is playing a game of Cat and Mouse and revealing himself here and there.
Apparently his big plan is to get a job as soon as unemployment runs out. And he will work on home improvements and keep track of time and labor, sell the house, divorce me and have a "fresh start". Sometime in the next who-knows.
But he would stay with me if I admit to my wrong-doing, and show him all my phone texts.

The Smoke and Mirrors saga aka part 2 of Restraining Orders and Lawsuits
aka - word from pasty face Clove:
SO its been a while. Last Monday a bomb was dropped on me (or so I thought...stick around it gets tricky or funny depending) about a previous friend who was planning on filing a restraining order and law suits against Husband.
Never happened, and he finally came clean to me Wednesday morning after calling from his friends house at 4:30 am.
Restraining Orders and Lawsuits aka just another day...
Greetings Steptalkers.
Without my usual preamble and dry humor that isnt funny, I have some news.
Yesterday in the am (5/19/2025) I was notified via text that a friend of mine who had asked my husband to do some work on her car for her was filing a restraining order and lawsuit against him. We went back and forth and here is the bare bones of what I know and what was said, all between myself and this woman:
- He didnt do the work he said he did, so she didnt pay him and he spent all last week badgering, harrassing and threatening her.
Husband was laid off today...
We will be fine. He promised he would work on the house to make it beautiful (instead of hanging with his dudes?) and that he will liquidate and sell all the cars (6-7 I think, that I know about).
It was because his computer skills are low to nothing and his new job requires everything to be documented and videoed. He said he "tried really hard but it just wasnt something he was able to do".
The pay was fabulous, he had retirement accounts.
It is what it is. Will be looking at the bright side:

Gossip Girl MUSt have been written by Stepparents
Im re-watching while I get through this yucky bug, and "for the fashion" of course. Theres a resurgence in interest in this series...everything old is new again, right?
Well, NOW I am noticing the step dynamics. Throughout the different seasons, as the characters age, and engage with bio parents, and "that other thing" with the billionair little boy lost and the almost-his-age-step mother. I noticed it mainly in season 5-6.

Happy New Years and Resistance
Happy New Years Steptalkers. Mine was very dry and filled with what ifs. Quiet with a dash of Yellowstone.

Riding the Unexpected Dragon
Good morning. Still a little sick with coughing, but no body aches and fever, so thats a blessing. Slept fitfully, until aboit 10 am. Half the day is gone.
"Dont stop believing" song by Journey is playing as I type this out. The sky is a hazy dreamy soft creamy gray where the sun is trying to emerge, and fog is hugging the hillsides in the distance.
Recap:
Dec 24 Christmas eve. Not much news, calls to my younger brother about their plans to arrive Dec 25 and we should meet up, and we will play it "by ear" as to how Dad is doing.
