Feeling Odd

SD24 sent me pictures of her Christmas decorations. This is the first year she is living in her own apartment, and she had asked for home-made decorations from my my boys, her half brothers. I'm not particularly close to her thanks to actions that brought me here, and we only really text very occasionally, mostly coordinating her visits when she is in our state.

SD24 in jail

What would you do?

SD24 got into a fight with her boyfriend over the weekend and slapped him. She then called the police to ask for help on trying to get her bf out of their apartment. When they heard she slapped him, they arrested her. She spend 2 days in jail until she could go before a judge and get bond. She is now in a hotel until she goes back to court again next week because there is an order of protection for her boyfriend against her.

Update to It Never Ends

I suggested to DH that he block BM. I said if getting bombarded from texts from BM were going to affect his mood, and therefore affect me and our children, then it really would be in all our best interest to block BM. DH said he has no problems with BM texting him since it's about their (soon-to-be 24 year old) daughter together. He said he doesn't respond. He said he waited for all texts to end and simply sent back "She's an adult" in response.

It Never Ends!

I thought with SD23 being done with college (undergrad at least) and CS is finally over, it would end with BM except for big occasions. Nope!

Here's the big problem with BM being older than DH: She retired last year. She sold their former family home, inherited her mother's estate, and is finally living more comfortably. The problem now is that she has too much time on her hands! All she does is assume the worst with SD23, and although she has reason to assume some bad, she goes way overboard, and gets DH involved.

What's a healthy amount of contact with Bm...

...when skids are grown?

This morning BM called DH and DH immediately left the room to talk with her. I only knew it was her because I heard him say SD22's name out loud a bunch of times. I wanted to eavesdrop, but I controlled myself and did not go out of my way to listen in. DH did not mention once all day the phone call.

Is this emotional immaturity?

I was looking at old FB posts the other day, and I noticed the pics I had posted on Valentine's Day. DH isn't very romantic, but can be prodded a little, so I had posted two pics from the Valentine's Day where he proposed to me. (He had put my ring in a heart shaped box of chocolates. He planned the evening perfectly...he made a vet appointment for the dog so that I had NO clue there was going to be any romance on his end!) Anyway, I posted those this year hoping DH would get the hint and be a little romantic with me this year.

This time BM texted at 5 am instead of 4:30...how considerate!

What is wrong with these people? Do they have no manners? Wait, I know the answer to that one!

So in my last blog, I was upset with BM texting DH at 4:30 am over life insurance, and waking me up in the process. That was 2 weeks ago.

DH did get the paperwork from his life insurance company showing proof of everything she wants, but apparently didn't forward it on. I'm not sure if it's just laziness or if he's dragging his feet on purpose to piss her off. Both are equally possible.
