Miss Manner really got it wrong today!

Miss Manners really got it wrong today! Why would an obituary mention step grandkids that were not involved with the deceased?

Dear Miss Manners: I recently lost my mom, and we just had the service. My brother has two stepsons, and in the obituary, they were mistakenly left off the list of grandkids. Biologically, my mom had a total of six grandkids, who were all mentioned in the obituary.

Todays "Ask Amy" shows that sometimes it never ends. A man in his 70's wrote in about how his girlfriend, who is the same age, recently broke up with him because her adult daughter threatened to withhold the grandchildren unless she did so. The daughter was upset that her mother was having sex with her boyfriend because it went against their religion. The woman did reconsider and ask the man if he would get back together.

Has anyone heard from justmakingthebest? I think the last time she posted was when she had inadvertently talked to her ex-MIL and was concerned about her abusive ex finding out where she worked. I know her SS was due for spring break and she usually updates on that. I sent a private message and have not heard back.

For all the skids who are going to make a living playing video games - apparently it is possible, with a few caveats...

From an article on Bolde by Piper Ryan

If you happen to be in a job you love, consider yourself lucky. While most of us dream of getting paid to do things we’re passionate about, that just doesn’t happen for many people. However, if video games are your hobby, you might be interested in knowing that Playstation is hiring people to play them all day long while getting paid for it.

Update on Florida ER Doc who lost temporary custody

CNN has a more extensive article on the case. It seems the father and the court are being reasonable. The father is offering make up time. From the temporary court order:

"The Court does not enter this Order lightly but given the pandemic in Florida and the recent increase in confirmed COVID-19 cases, the Court finds in order to insulate and protect the best interests and health of the minor child, this Order must be entered on a temporary basis," the judge wrote in the court ruling.

From the father's attorney:

BM who is an ER doc temporarily loses custody

An ER doctor who shared 50/50 custody of her daughter with her ex-husband has lost any custody time with her daughter due to the fact that she works with COVID-19 patients. She feels like she is being discriminated against because she is divorced - if they were still married her child would not have been taken away. Not sure how I feel about this, but she does have a point.

Gannon Stauch update - arrest affidavit released

notsurehowtodeal's picture

The arrest affidavit in the Gannon Stauch case was released. She killed him in his bedroom in a violent manner and dumped his body outside of town. There is a lot of information that was not released to the public before now. She went to great lengths to first make it appear he had run away. I haven't read enough to find out how his body was taken to Florida. The Dad was away from home on training with the National Guard.
