At what age is personality set?

My SS is 9. He pretty much is a jerk.

If he isn't getting what he wants or enjoying himself, he makes everyone else around him miserable.

Yesterday SO was telling me that SS was mouthing off to BM's fiancé. BMF told SS to watch his mouth and SS continued to be a jerk to the guy and be disrespectful.

SS actually told SO about this story.

More Excuses for SS

Friday night we went to a party for SO's friends 40th birthday. It was at friends parents' house and was kid friendly.

Of course we took SS9 and SD.

First off, friend had his nephews there ages 12, 10, 9 and 5.

SS9 wanted nothing to do with the older kids and played with the 5yr old the entire time. Anytime we take the kids somewhere (beach, park), SS always plays with the toddlers and never with kids his own age. I see it as a clear example of his immaturity.

OT-Furbabies

We are going on a trip the end of May. We will be gone three days/two nights.

We have three dogs and a cat.

I am contemplating leaving the 3yr old dog and cat home alone. We have a doggie dog and I can leave plenty of food and water down for them.

My other two dogs will need to be boarded because I just don't feel good about them being alone that long. They are very needy.

What is the longest you have left a pet while away?

Just a boy thing?

As some of you may remember from my past posts, SS has been in trouble the last 4 wks at school for punching a kid and throwing a chair at a kid.

Last year, he had at least 5 incidents of hitting other students that I can remember. He even choked a girl in his class.

He is no longer allowed to touch, speak to or even look at our animals because he is always hitting and choking them.

Mini Wives and Mini Husbands

We have a little Mini Schnauzer (MS) that is jealous of anyone and everyone. Anytime SO kisses me, MS jumps on us and barks. I started calling him a mini husband and explained that I learned the term on this site and SO started calling MS by the name too.

So this weekend, SD is loving on MS. SO tells SD that she is MS's 2nd mom. He says why not, if ninji can have a mini husband.

I immediately speak up before he can even finish the thought and say, That is so gross. So, SD is now your wife?

SO: You’re a pervert. I wasn't meaning it like that.

Conversations in the Twilight Zone

It’s supposed to be pretty stormy here later today. Rain, lightning and high winds.

We have to pick up Skids today after work. It’s an hr drive and the traffic is pretty bad after work on Friday’s.

I told SO on the way to work that I could take a couple of hrs early off work today if he wanted. Maybe we could avoid the bad weather and some of the traffic.

Around 10am he starts texting me.

(SO is a contractor on base and can’t escort anyone on base with him)

My SO is very generous is buys me stuff all the time.

Last night I was using the electric can opener he bought me for Christmas, and I thought, this is the best gift. I no longer have to curse at the old manual one that never worked. I can actually open cans now. Silly I know, considering all the jewelry the poor guy has bought me. Smile
