What's the best gift your SO has given you.

Ninji's picture

My SO is very generous is buys me stuff all the time.

Last night I was using the electric can opener he bought me for Christmas, and I thought, this is the best gift. I no longer have to curse at the old manual one that never worked. I can actually open cans now. Silly I know, considering all the jewelry the poor guy has bought me. Smile

DH is generous. If I want/need something he usually gets it for me.

He got me really nice diamond earrings for our 1 year anniversary which was really unexpected and I love them.

I have gotten so many gifts, some romantic, some pratical, some expensive, some "cheap". I love them all.

He just gave me $100 the other day "just because" Smile I used it to buy BS and I some new shoes.

My SO is the same way. SO actually just got a check in the mail about 3 weeks ago and handed to me and said, Here put this in your bank.

Expensive perfume, niche and high end designer stuff. I am usually fine with the mass marketed designer stuff that is available in our area but he has exquisite tastes and spoils me with things I could never justify getting for myself.

Artisan jewelry. My ex used to get me stuff that was overpriced and just not my style (diamonds, gold, ect). DH loves the artistry that goes into it and gets the most gorgeous things that don't necessarily break the bank.

Little things like a favorite food item that I don't keep around the house very often.

my .380. best gift ever!!!! ETA - just happened to re-read this and realized how weird and random it seems LOL!

i was at the office once and happened to be on the phone w/ dh (earpiece). it happened to be at a time when i was running the ship solo for a few hrs. this jerk comes in and starts getting irate, and asked several times if i was there alone. this is why - so my dh ensures my safety and protection, even when we're apart! Kiss 2

He has smothered me in jewelry, something I've never been interested in before. But now I love the stuff! The most recent was a diamond necklace for Valentine's.

On the other end of the spectrum, he will come home with Archie comics for me because I love them. Recently he has started making stashes of Cheetos just for me! hahaha!

Last year I lost 30 pounds. There is a long complicated medical backstory to both the loss and the having the 30 extra to begin with. I finally pointed it out to him, "Don't know if you've noticed, but I lost 15 (then another 15)." He just got a blank look on his face, no answer. I knew that what he was telling me was it didn't make a lick of difference to him--gain, lose, it is all still me and what he loves is me. That ranks right up there with the best things he's done for me.

Spontaneous trips!
I love getting away with him and spending uninterrupted time, no work, no kids, no house stuff. Love it!

He does lots of things for me, is never jealous, allows me my time (and I allow him his) and he's the best thing that I've ever met.

I've received some nice jewelry and love my wedding rings especially.

But the best gift(s) he has ever given me is poems that he would write about me and his feelings towards me. He is not a very expressive guy verbally so I treasure those always. Smile

My DH usually has to be told when it's time to buy me a present, arrange an evening out, or bring me flowers. And he does so, happily.

He doesn't need or want anything (although he does appreciate chocolate) so he tends not to be a gift giver.

He is absolutely my partner in life. I am happier and more relaxed than I have ever been, my life and my future feels more and more bright. He tells me hundreds of times per day that he loves me, that he enjoys my company and appreciates all that I do. He reassures me when I feel weak, he helps me when I'm struggling, he is willing to adapt and change to keep us happy together, and he doesn't mind at all that I am, at times, a screaming neurotic nutjob from hell with major insecurities or eating sushi with me even though he doesn't like it.

Best gift ever, the bracelet he gave me the night he said I Love You the first time......well either that or all of my cast iron cookware, I really love that stuff. He has given me lots of other pieces of jewelry but that bracelet means the world to me.

H is very helpful around the house, which is a gift to me.

Most recently, he purchased a 35mm camera for me so I could get out of the house and start taking pictures of this beautiful place we live.

He's liked them so much that he's picked some out to have mounted and framed around our house.

SO got me a 4 burner hooded BBQ which I absolutely adore..we both love to cook..however he does get to use it more than me 'cos his marinations are incredible!!

He also:

- tells me he loves me every day
- calls me on his lunch break without fail
- calls me beautiful (this melts me 'cos I don't feel it sometimes)
- hugs me every chance he gets
- holds me tight at night and spoons me until I'm drowsy enough to sleep
- helps me with housework including ironing, washing, vacuuming
- dry humps me the instant he sees me bent over..no matter where we are or what I'm doing (haha!)
- sings to me on his guitar if I'm cooking in the kitchen

I'm gonna stop now or I'll end up leaving work to run and hug him!!
