The site of her/sound of her name makes me sick!
I am a nurse and feel horrible about the way I feel! Shouldn't I have more compassion for people in general? I have only been married for 4 months and am contemplating divorce bc of my sd10. At first things were great and I was excited to be a stepmother. I don't have children of my own and am 38. However, her birthday was in December and I went all out. Same goes for christmas. SD10 went to her moms for 2 weeks and when she came back things were different. I don't know what the bitch told her but it was different.
SD Calling me mom?!?
:jawdrop: So my 10 yr old SD wants to call me mom. I am flattered and appreciate this!! I am. However, I have only been in the picture for 3 years and it is a little awkward (sp).?. I am however much involved with her, we have residential custody, she stays with us a lot even when it is her BM's time. Her mom is a real peice of work. My SD has a facebook (we do keep careful watch on this and have passwords and all that) and she put me down as her mother. What should I do. Everyone, including her counselor, says to allow her to call me mom, if I am comfortable with it. Help!

BM Unable To Be Served
Anyone have any experience in Illinois with a spouse who is unable to be served divorce?
BM has been hiding in the house and telling kids and mother not to open door.
Sheriff and special deputy have been attempting to serve for 8 weeks.
Now SO's lawyer must return to court to ask for another extension (alias summons). Each is good for 30 days.
She can be served by publication but that has no jurisdiction over custody of children. Lawyer does not recommend it. Any advice?

he is going to kill me
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OK I needed that now if only I could really do that. My ss7 is killing me, I'm watching him tonight while my husband is at work(that is a whole other story I wrote about earlier) My ss7 isn't listening to me at all, its been a fight over everything. I don't think I'll make it the next hour till his bedtime, which I'm sure will just be another fight. Sorry I just needed to vent a little bit.

Possessive (borderline) abusive 10 year old?
We recently had a death in the family, and one of my family members is a single mother with a 27 year old son from her first marriage, and a younger son who is 10. At a family gathering I was bothered by how the boy interrupted his mom every time she would start a conversation with stupid stuff, and at one point she was talking about buying her older son something and when the 10 year old heard he grabbed her arm and whispered something in her ear, she then responded to the boy with..."Let go of my arm, you are hurting me!". This worries me. Should it? Am i being paranoid?
Emotional Vampires
Almost every one of us has someone in our life whom we wish we could change or whom we wish would change; desiring them to do things differently or to be different. It might be a boss, coworker, colleague, team member, friend, family member or worse, a romantic partner.

I think I just found my new favorite website!
Hello to all that read..
I am a BM to 3 wonderful boys, ages 7, 5, and 4 months and also a SM to a 5 year old boy. My issues sound all too familiar with the most of you. Heres how my story starts..
Why I'm Sick of FSD's Picky Eating
I have read several blogs and forum posts and I know that I am not alone in having a pickey eater on my hands. FSD will eat pizza, chicken nuggets, mozarella sticks, waffles, and desserts. Honestly, it drives me crazy. I'm beginning to isolate a few reasons why I find this so annoying.
1. FDH says he disapproves of her limited tastes but makes no attempt to introduce her to new foods.
