Only a WEEK till Summer..I am not ready

Will one week and then SS will be here for the whole summer, everyother weekend is almost to much to deal with and the summer almost kills both me and my marriage every year. My daughter with SO just turned 7 and even she doesn't want SS13 here, she told me I love him but he is mean......how sad is that it breaks my heart that this poor girl wants to love and like her brother so bad but he just acts so awful and brings so much tension that she doesnt' even want him here.

When do you stop buying Christmas gifts for exs from Stepkids?

I haven't posted in forever but Christmas is here and that means......STRESS.. Anyway my SS is 13, when does it become his responsibility to get a gift for his mom? My daughter with my husband is 6 and a 1/2 and she told me she wanted to get Christmas gifts for her dad, my husband, and for her grandmothers, she even wanted to use her money from her piggy bank so I took her to dollar tree and she picked out ornaments for each of them and little gift bags even. My stepson has money he gets allowance but he takes no initiative to buy gifts for his mother or even ask to go shopping.

If they were bios would anyone care?

So I have been thinking, another poster recently posted on the fact that sometimes in trying to make the world so fair for steps it actually becomes unfair to bios, which I completly agree with.

People want us to treat our steps the same as our children whenever there is something "fun" but when it comes to rules and expections.....no....God forbid we hold them to the same standerd.

MIL just screwed up our relationship with BM

THere has been a lot of stuff going on with BM that I haven't been blogging about because it is just a cluster fu*k. But DH and I were dealing with it. MIL in typical overbearing behind our back fashion though just screwed it all up. We started slowly putting together a case for us to have custody we have been trying to get DH more involved with SS's teachers and doctors because he was lacking in that area, putting together facebook evidence, etc...we had a long term 1yr plan to go in for custody.

Got through the weekend unscathed

SS8 is back with his mom again now and the weekend is over, it didn't even go that bad but I am glad it is over. I really tried to activly disengage this weekend and it did make it easier. Hell I didn't even cook, my DH was dissapointed but he didn't argue. So yesterday lunch was Wendy's, dinner was spagetti, breakfast this morning cereal, and lunch today mac and cheese and not the oven kind I make. There is a real lower quality of living when DH is in charge of food.

O/T Sometimes I just feel sorry for MIL she is so pathetic

First of I hate my MIL she is b*tch, she has an unhealthy relationship with my SS because try as she has for years my DH won't play ball with her neediness, that being said sometimes I just feel sorry for her. Her best friend another delusional hag, well her daughter just got married and MIL went to the wedding, well they just posted the pics on facebook and there is my MIL, a 58 yr old woman in a short, sleevless black dress trying to look 40, she failed. MIL is not an attractive woman, she is 58 could pass for 65 and is really short and chubby.
