So SD15 has told DH that she will be coming this weekend ( DH weekend to have her ) . The drive for DH if he leaves after rush hour traffic (after 5:30pm) is about 2 hours . Since BM has moved which has been about 4 years I think, DH has always met her around the same time which is can be a little late but the drive is a bit far . The earlier he has met BM was 7pm but with construction going on constantly he normally meets her around 8 .

Glad to found a forum for step parents. Im new to the forum, new to the US (arrived in Jun last yr w my 14 yo son) married to my husband after dating for 5 years and now the huge issue is with his 18 yo daughter.

Shes out of school and working short hours at a ramen shop with no plans of moving out.

Now for what I did during my Holiday season.  We flew to mom and dad's the Friday before TG. We had a great time and visits with all but 2 of the Rags clan. Only SS and Nephew-1's DW were absent. Both are struggling with anxieties. Hopefully they will be in a better place by the 2025 EOY holidays and can join the gatherings.

T-minus 17 hours until SS12 returns to BMLand. While I love SS and enjoy spending time with him, these visits are becoming more and more taxing due to BM/GF interference.

If you recall this past Christmas LI admitted that she dropped out of college (with plans to maybe get a certificate as an EMT). DH took it a lot better than expected after a very brief period of lamenting.

In case anyone was wondering how it all shook out, we have (of course) come full circle. DH is now insisting that college is a "waste of time and money". 

This, after years of calling other people (such as his nephews) losers for not going to college.

Yesterday Demon15 and SS18 were supposed to go back to Crazy's, since NYE and NYD are her days. SS can do whatever but he's following Demon's schedule. DH and I took a trip out of state for a few days- we left on NYE. DH talked to both skids and told them to lock up, but that they were going to Crazy's that day. 
 

I hate New Years Eve with a passion.  My two irritating SKIDS are here every year and I have to spend most of the evening with them.  It was actually just dinner and from 8-12.  I try to tell myself to just put up with them but they drive me nuts every time.  SD 14 always does this super annoying baby talk each and every time she sees one of our 6 cats.  Tonight she decided she needs to squeall or yell every time she sees her cat which I was nice enough to allow her to get..  Loud noises bother me a lot and she is old enough that she doesnt need to do this.  I have had several conversations

I am absolutely furious. SD31 called me about 3am, sobbing. She was crying so hard and so upset, I could not understand her and asked if her DH was there would she give him the phone. He was. She had a miscarriage. I told him I'd be there ASAP. My DH was already awake and getting ready for work. Told him what happened, grabbed purse and keys, and flew out the door.
