Parent Teacher Conferences

CrystalRE's picture

DH and I have not spoken since Monday when we had parent/teacher conferences for his two girls.

We learned that the 7 yr old is socially retarded. That she is "mean", "bossy" and that the "other children resent her for her behavior".

We learned that the 11 year old has decided that she no longer needs the $300.00 pair of glasses that she INSISTED she have last year because she just couldnt read without them!

Most Recent Drama...Advice Please

So the SK's went back to BM's after school yesterday. We get an email from BM last night saying that she asked the kids if they rode the bus from our house to school yesterday and they told her no so she asked if they walked. They again told her no so she asked how they did get to school and they told her that my bio-daughter arranged for them to get a ride to school with a friend that only has their school permit. This, of course, made BM concerned about their safety riding with a teenage driver....totally understandable.

The Hurtful Things SK's Say

So I recently began reading Stepmonster after having several pretty emotionally trying weeks with my SD's. In the introduction the Author quotes something her SD said to her fiance, in her presence, while shopping for her wedding dress. Her SD said, "How come all I get is a cheap belt and she gets a beautiful, expensive wedding dress".

Life Insurance For SK's

CrystalRE's picture

Im wondering if anyone has any issues with life insurance policies when it comes to the SK's. I have two SD's. Both of them have two life insurance policies that BM's Mom took out for them when they were babies. BM has since taken over payments on the policies. My question is that BM asks us for half of the premium 6 times per year.

When You're Begining To Enjoy It When DH Is Gone

DH and and I have had a lot of problems since he and I got married. In the beginning most of them were cause by BM and her jealousy. He made a lot of mistakes in the way he dealt with her which cause a great deal of mistrust and hurt feelings. I blame most of our issues on BM because our life was so good until she decided to turn into a nut case.

Question About Doctors Appointments

CrystalRE's picture

DH gets an email from BM today that says:

I am taking daughter(10) to the doctor because she said that she got a stomach ache after she ate. With such vague information DH emails back and asks questions. She fires back with "She has complained because she got a diahrreha after she ate." STILL not much information so DH emails again and asked her if she tried any home remedies. She said that she gave her pepto and it worked but she still wants to take her to the doctor because "if something major is wrong, she wants to know".

Destructive Children

CrystalRE's picture

I am wondering if anyone has any experience with intentionally destructive/defiant children. I ask this because my SD (almost 7) is driving me to my wits end! Let me give you some examples of her recent behavior:

Caught her slamming the door of my new car into the cement wall along side my driveway (taking the paint off the door).

Fakes illness/cough and when/if we dont give her medicine for it she will sneak into the medicine cabinet and attempt to steal it (nothing deadly but vitamins, cough drops, etc.)

Update To Headlice Woes - You Guys Will Be Proud!

CrystalRE's picture

When I got home from work on Friday I talked to DH about the headlice thing and told him some of my thoughts on it. I included some of the advice that I got from you guys (THANK YOU)! Any way, he ended up calling BM and telling her that she needed to go to the pharmacy and pick up some lice shampoo and bring it over to our house. After some argument she did it. When she got there we invited her in the house to "educate" her on what headlice looks like, etc. since she claimed that she looked "a dozen times and didnt see a thing".
