Another hit to the family blending......

So DH's parents decided to take all the grandchildren on a cruise this summer...bet you can guess the next statement, before I even type it....All the grandchildren, besides my DD. I heard all the excuses, too much money, rooms aren't big enough, too many kids for them to handle (Total of 5, 3 girls all 12 years old, 2 boys, both 16). I was beyond devasted, as my MIL always told me and for them most part, has treated my daughter and I the same as the rest of the family.

Sad My community is devasted! Two students have committed suicide in the space of 8 days, and one other attempted -- that we know of. Rumor has it, that it is around 9...including adults. My SS knew both boys, but wasn't really friends with them. The students from the MS thru the HS are falling apart. The news is portraying our town as a bunch of bullies/cyber bullies.

:? I'm not in a good place right now. The kids will be home in two hours. I'm trying to work and just can't stay focused. I am thinking about a student in our town who was popular, a football player and everyone loved him...today was his funeral, he committed suicide on Sunday. Then I flash to my SD, who grates on my nerves, who has very few friends, who is doing poorly in school, and has no self esteem.

Blum 3 Friday morning....my quiet time after DH leaves for wotk and before DD wakes up. I savory this time pretty much every morning. Friday's especially. DD will be leaving for school in little over an hour and then my work day will begin. A friend may stop by for coffee and to chat...hopefully work won't be too busy. Sounds like bliss, doesn't it? But its Friday! and Friday is the day that the Skids come over. So by lunchtime I will be stressing up.

:O I am being pushed to my absolute limits right now. I need to take a page from so many others and disengage. My hubby wrote his BM an email with a list of subjects that they needed to discuss about the kids. She responded with three separate emails. Freakin shoot me. It was just about things that needed to be discussed. No blaming, no accusations, NOTHING. It was about discussing their son's upcoming trip to Prague. It was about their daughter's upcoming Bat Mitzvah. It was about the discussing pediatricians and a possible change.

SD turned 12, and now I have to throw the party??

My SD is 12, yay for her. We took the family out to dinner (Total of 8 people at Outback)and I'm taking her shopping once she knows what she needs. She wants a small get together with her friends now...ok, I agree pizza and a movie...hubby and I discussed this. Didn't want the party here. We talked, it was agreed on. Tonight I find out that she is have 8 girls HERE! Including two girls I can't stand.

Snow Day...just my mindless thoughts for the day.

:O So today is a snow day. I work from home, no issue for me. Hubby decided to work from home (too much of a good thing), and of course DD is home. I had plans to bake cookies and brownies and maybe even my hubby's favorite cupcakes (Devil's food w/peanut butting filling and chocolate ganache frosting.) I still may do that, because baking is theraputic for me. And I am in a tired bitchy cranky kind of mood. Skids are coming over in an hour...I'm in no mood for it today. I know that sounds horrible, but the truth is the truth.

Meeting at the School....(really long, but questions at the bottom)

So today, my hubby & I both took the day off because we had a mid-day meeting at the school with SD12's teachers, guidance counselor, vice principal, and school psychologist, oh, I forgot BM was also there. The day started much like any other. I was the first up in the house, I met a neighbor at the HS bus stop so she could bring brownies and cookies to my SS16 - today is his B-day (so if you live anywhere in Orange or Rockland Counties in NY---BEWARE, another student driver on the road).
